Information Please

Hey ‘Crunchers.

I am a car guy as well as watch geek. I am part of a committee tasked with finding a manufacturer or vendor that represents customized watches for groups. We’ve been searching for the right fit (no pun intended) for over a year.

The basic specs are as follows, but we are flexible depending on design:

  • Field/Sports watch style.

  • Stainless steel or titanium case.

  • 39-40mm case .

  • No specific design for dial except the inclusion of licensed club logo (we can provide camera ready art).

  • Straps no bracelet.

  • Known movements, quartz, automatic or manual wound.

Does anyone here have experience in making group buys of this sort and if so, would you share the vendor/watchmaker with me so that we can possibly contact them and move forward with this project?

TIA for any information.

Lance

Christopher Ward seems to be the most responsive to group requests, including custom details and dials.

Do you know how to contact them?

·

A member of a watch forum I frequently visit contacted them directly through their website. A company rep walked them through the process from beginning to end.

The forum ended up getting a custom watch with custom dial, hands and caseback details.

@TimeToDesign Peter might be able to help… 😉…

I get 5% commission lol…

And @Wes_Nodus too!!! Ok guys I’m your pimp now hahaha!!

·

Thank you! That’s what we are looking for. We are still in “info gathering” stage, but I will definitely put CW on the list.

Best,

Lance

If you are talking fully customer, you will want to find a Private Label co to make it. You have have it fully done in China, Germany, Switzerland, etc. The problem is not many brands will cough up their private label since they are usually done privately for good reasons on both sides. A google of "<insert country" private label watch manufacturer" will yield lots of results. Be prepared to pay for the prototype up front and build it into your costs.

Seems like something Nodus would be into

I would contact Maryland Watch Works. I am pretty sure this is right in their wheelhouse.

Raven Watches also has a custom department. Good luck with the project!

There's @ChristopherWard and @Mike55 that might be able to help you out.

Unless someone here has actually completed a project of the same nature with the brands they are suggesting, rather than just throwing around names that are 'forum darlings' (for some at least), the suggestions aren't really worth much as they literally haven't been in your shoes. Best information given so far is to do your own research into private label.

If homage watches don't bother you, San Martin does great work with personalized dials. I ordered 3 last year before they stopped doing it for single orders - now it must be for 20 or more pieces. They were very responsive and the dials look great and their watch quality is suprising for the price. https://sanmartinwatches.com/shop/accessories/custom-logo-cost/

Stirling is worth a shot.

TBH, "unit" watches and the like seem to be almost exclusively related to tactical based enthusiast circles.

Also know Tudor has done unit watches and other various Mil/LEO/Tactical community based watches, as well as a number of other organizations.

Then there's these:

I've also seen recent evidence on other forums of units getting Tudor to order stuff, but from what I understand it's through dealers only.

I'm fact, can't find it at the moment, but I could've sworn there was an east coast car club that had a special Tudor BB made.

Do you have a target price point?

I saw that CWC watches also do this.

If you’re looking for the right fit for cars then try Depancel. They derive their name from French car brands and their entire line is focused around the auto theme.

We would like to be in the $300-400 retail area.
