Long Island Watch out of the box thinking

I have a couple Islanders and was very tempted by the 3 new racing watches. Such a great value.

I get the impression they listen a lot! What are your thoughts on the white dial?

No doubt these are well made but the design isn't for me. 

understand I was looking a summer fun piece a bit out of my comfort zone👍😀

I'm glad Mark is getting more and more comfortable with original designs. Looks awesome!

Long Island Watch is taking Seiko in directions they have yet to go with quartz and the NH movements. Next they should try the SW200 movement and give the Swiss a run for their money.

Hats off and great respect always for Mark, for getting in there, pushing the envelope, sweating it out, for trying different design options that may not be as popular or "homaging" to overrated luxury brand design cues, for taking risks, putting his money where his mouth is, and making it happen. 👍💪 

I'm very tempted by these new Islanders. The Gulf livery version is already sold out, although I like the Martini as well.  I don't own any Islander watches but I don't doubt them as I'm fairly certain Mark understands what enthusiasts want. 

The dial and color combo looks super nice, not a fan of the day and date windows, but it's still an interesting piece with a spot on dial design. Enjoy it! 

I dislike the logo it looks confused being there to me

I've never liked Marc's logo - this is the first Islander I've purchased. Been close before, but always a few design elements that didn't work. Marc has modded his own Islanders and made some really looking watches, but he doesn't mod them for sale. Too bad as I suck at any kind of mechanical work. I'm a whizz with numbers, but the best I can do with watches is change straps, adjust bracelets, and Polywatch crystals.

Would love to see a picture posted when you have watch and new strap 👍🏻

I Purchased the Gulf as a knee jerk reaction but the Martini is the more interesting between the two If you buy it and don't like it we can trade 

It's a very interesting piece at a reasonable price. I don't mind the logo either, and I do like Marc's approach with these fun pieces.

I've heard all good stuff about Islander watches and have been tempted many times.

Not by this one though. Not sure what Mark was thinking here.

I'm with @foghorn on this one. Not my cup of tea and don't really see the "racing" angle, however, I am not a car guy. Nonetheless, happy Marc is making the watch designs he really wants.

One thing I do like about it is the colorway. Pops out and is ready for summer.

While I am not a fan of this particular dial design, I think you made a great choice to get one! They do seem to be really popular, especially the #ISL-136, as it is already sold out. Kudos on a great purchase! I am wearing my #ISL-134 today and wondering if I made a mistake passing on the #ISL-136 when I had the chance to get one. 🤣

Interesting to see the evolution of LIW. From up-spec SKX clones, to parts-bin “let’s see how many variations I can make with the same basic parts”, to more daring watches now.

it’s not the usual route for a micro-brand. Not having a consistent design language/dna, I mean. 

I could see LIW sticking around for another 100 years, though.
