Pelegos 39mm IMO.

·

My vote is for BB54

I've been musing this exact question. Because I would definitely take the 54 over the 58.

I think - today - my answer would be the Pelagos 39. I am enjoying wearing an IWC Mark XVII - and every time I see the borderless ceramic lume squares at 12, 3, 6, 9 (and the triangle at 12) - I think about the Pelagos 39 tasty lume lumps.

It might well be my answer is different tomorrow - as the 54 looks great (and I really love my mid-sized omega SMP.)

It’s the lume that gives it the extra between the two for me.

I had the black 42…the matte black ceramic is so good. If the 39 was matte… for me it would be perfect.

·

Pelagos for how unbelievably comfortable it is on the wrist

·

C. Pely 37 😏

·

Both great in their own way. If you want a more tactical look, the Pelagos. If you want a sports luxury look, then the 54 would work better. So I guess it depends what you're looking for.

·

Pelagos!

There is a warmth to titanium… both in colour and physical temperature in my mind anyway… brilliant clasp helps too… 👍🏼

·

Both 🤣

Both 🤣

I’m lucky to have both!

·

BB54 is more versatile IMO. Better case size and could easily be a GADA. If I had to choose for me that would be it.

·

Slightly biased…but for me it’s got to be the 54 😄

I own the p39 I love it. Great daily watch, lightweight, and I absolutely love all the nods to past models. Chamfered lugs, snowflake indices, pointed crown guards, red text. Also no faux rivets lol. (Everyone’s favorite thing to complain about when it comes to Tudor models.) jokes aside the 54 is also great tried it on in the boutique and it’s amazingly thin! And honestly don’t the rivets are even there lolol

Also forgot to mention the p39 has a lumed bezel!!!

·

Made my choice with the P39. So comfortable and the dial has so many dimensions to it.

·
Crawford

Try them both on one after the other. Buy the one you emotionally respond to most in that moment. If there’s no great emotional response to either then don’t buy either, save the money and continue the search.

They are both mine luckily 😊

Nice! Best way to solve the dilemma!

Cheers! I’m a lucky man to be sure. I purchased the Pelagos first and then my wife bought me the 54 for a significant birthday 🎂 😬 (I have been buying her watches for years, finally it paid off! 😂)

Pelagos 39 for me cause I just can’t stand the faux rivets on the BB bracelet.

I don’t even see them anymore… the bracelet is fantastic, the clasp is brilliant. 😊

I did that exact thing stated from Crawford, above. I went in with the mindset to purchase the 54. Tried that on as well as the Pelagos 39 and even the bb58. The P39 won be over after wearing each of them. The fit was perfect. And I oddly just really love the square hour markers.

The bezel on the 54 is a lot smaller, too. And gave the overall look as too boxy. It was subtle but noticeable.

The 54 wears very well on my wrist, the size is no issue for me as I have many small vintage watches.

·

Mine is covered in ‘patina’ because I wear it to work, I’ve never been bothered about wear and tear because I generally never sell my watches.

·

Pelagos 39. Prefer the BB58 over both.

Different strokes for different folks I guess… 👍🏼

·

BB54 if you have the wrist at 37mm it's just too small for me but would pick it as a one watch collection if it was 39-40mm. Plus it just looks like it has more going for it

Really too small…? It’s funny, I’ve been collecting for a long time, and have many vintage watches which come in many sizes. I have always found that, a watch may seem small when you first put it on, after no time at all…it seems normal.

If you like the styling…you should give it some on your wrist. 😊🤝🏼

I prefer the dimensions of the 54 but the aesthetics and materials of the 39. If only we could fuse them.

Honestly I’ve worn little else but these two since I got the at the beginning of this year. (I think I’ve only had to wind either of them a few times in all that time)

They both have their merits, as you said the 39 is aesthetically bang on, the 54 however is just vintage cool 👌🏽
