2024; Year of the...???

I've seen Crunchers proclaim 2024 as the year of the brown or year of the quartz watches.

However, from recent releases and shares on the Crunch, it seems like it might be the year of Goldgious Fever.

Piaget has released a new gold watch, GQ is proclaiming a return to the 80's when gold was the craze.

What do you think the 'IT' thing will be this year?

My guess is gold as well

Unfortunately, its the year of the Apple Vision Pro.

Welcome to the future.

Gold would be interesting. I am guessing with how the trend is going smaller case sizes will continue to hold strong.

Year of the Gold. Liking this Wise.

My vote is for brown.

My vote is for "Year of the GMT"

If we're not only strictly talking colours.

That is nice. I like that the hands aren't the ones with the wings in addition to that gorgeous dial.

While I think they are cool...

  1. They should be used in your home, period.

  2. I can't afford them, so will not own them

I hope so. I have a few 44mm+ watches and while I can pull them off, I really think most watches would benefit by capping their sizing at 39 or 40mm.

But I'm not a 20-something that feels the need to wear a hubcap on my wrist.

Kind of feels like 2023 was the year of the GMT as the complication and Tiffany blue as the color.

I feel like with case sizes I am all over the place as a 30 something hehe. Here is my biggest and smallest. 😄

I cannot believe that there are idiots on the planet who perform this sort of blithering stupidity, for Christ sakes sell your car and bus n taxi everywhere 🤬

No idea but Swatch group will put something out in the summer. As for gold, for me, few watches can pull it off. It will be interesting to see what is the next trend, and even more how many people follow it.

  1. More smaller watches. Great for us small wristed.

  2. More and smaller chronographs I think.

  3. Sector and cross hair dials.

  4. Varied textured dials.

Idk but I kind of hope it's the year of brown. Brown can be hideous. Nobody wants a s*** brown watch. But I've seen some interesting brown watches recently.

Granted, these are all similar watches and fume, but it makes me interested in the possibilities some tobacco, Smokey brown color dials.

Those aren't bad, but I probably wouldn't buy any of them

Me neither. But only because they are all currently out of my budget. Otherwise I might have 3 brown watches. Or at least one. 😂

Even if they were in my budget, I'm just not into brown

You just haven't been bombarded with enough marketing to brainwash you yet. At some point this year you might look at a brown watch and think "maybe...". Likely followed with a quick "nah...". But it's a slippery slope. 😂

That's the thing about watches. One man's treasure is another man's trash. Most Chronographs just look busy and pointless to me. Bauhaus design gives me a serious soft on. But then guys like you have the Speedy as a Grail. I'm more of an AT guy.

It's all good. If you don't like them it's one less person I have to compete with for them 😜 No one liked the Daytona at first either HAHAHA!

Think of a Speedy as the Bauhaus of chronographs. 😉🤣

Cheers mate

I’ll get back to you in December. Need to give this a little thought 😂
