A gift for my 55th. The odds on my being here were poor for a while, so the celebration is welcome. It feels great and is my kind of gorgeous. I like that there are aspects of my otherwise low-key life that make every day feel like an occasion (Mrs. Ticky and the Junior Tickies chief among them). This watch is definitely one.
This and my recently acquired Omega AT are going to render a lot of my collection redundant, so I expect to be making a first foray into selling before long.

Happy that you got such an amazing watch! And that youโre here!!!
That dial is gorgeous! There is no comparison with Grand Seiko in that department in my opinion
Congrats, that's an awesome pair. ๐๐ช๐ผ
Yup, you're going to be selling stuff, same boat & I don't enjoy the selling part ๐๐๐ป

Thatโs awfully nice of you to say. I reserve you the right to retract that sentiment if we ever cross paths at a meet-up๐.
Nice
A Grand Seiko is on my "must-have-one-day" list.
Enjoy!
My friend is buying my Snowflake, but I've been wearing it on the Brodinkee/Straphabit Pink FKM strap recently (including today) and it reinforced for me that a spring drive must be part of my collection....he will still buy mine, but an excuse to maybe go Mist Flake or Omiwatari or something JDM only when I visit Japan next year.
Stunning piece!
I like the lack of a power reserve indicator. Very nice.
I'd say that is a good reason ๐
Congrats on your big milestones. Hear hear, taking time to reflect on lifeโs gifts is important ๐คโค๏ธ๐

The first GS I fell for was the Omiwatari, but seeing it in person alongside the Birch knocked it out of contention. The look and feel of the Snowflake was incredible, but Iโm one of those weenies whose gonna cost himself some nice watches because I canโt stand having the power reserve indicator on the dial. You should see the silly ergonomic sins that knock otherwise perfectly good cars off the list for me.
I bought myself a quartz dress JDM GS last year, and love it. Wish I were going to Japan too! Hope you have a good trip and share tell of all the cool JDM watches you see over there!
beautiful...congrats!

thanks! I'll be taking tons of pics (visiting the seiko museum, the Ginza boutique and whatever else I can get time to look at), I swear their ergonomics of the clasp has held me back from buying like 5 of them at this point. I'm so spoiled by the Horage clasp on the Supersede that anything above that price point for me needs to have that level of adjustment...if they solve the clasp I'm sunk haha...

Thatโs why I replace all my bracelets with straps!
Glad youโre here to celebrate!
Congratulations!๐
Real great and amazing birthday gift.
Enjoy it in good health!๐ช
Thatโs why I replace all my bracelets with straps!
But I love a great bracelet more than 99% of straps. Just have a clasp issue lol
All the best to.you, congratulations!! Wear it in continued good health!
Congrats!
Great watch! ๐
What colour band is that?
Great watch! ๐
What colour band is that?
Itโs a grey Nubuck band from DeLugs.
Congrats. Happy 55th. And what a beautiful watch โ lovely dial. Hoping it remains a joy for many years to come. ๐ค
Nice watch and happy Birthday!
Nice gift
Congratulations ๐ what a great watch and happy 55th!
This is my ideal GS but Iโm gonna shoot for the snowflake first as my first GS
Congrats, gorgeous watch!
That is a beautiful watch. That and your AT will certainly make every other watch redundant!!

Both are pretty special.
Congrats on the battle and the watch! You get to see the slgh005 and slgh017 also in the flesh?

Saw the SLGH005, but not the Night Birch. Always wanted a Spring Drive, and also liked the subtly different SLGA009 dial a little better.
