Thoughts on the new PRX Chrono?

I must say that I love it, WOW ๐Ÿ˜ I cannot wait to check it out on the flesh. For more info, I took the picture from this review: https://monochrome-watches.com/tissot-prx-chronograph-automatic-introducing-hands-on-price/

I think I like it but I need to see it in the metal. The pics are so over processed it's not possible to know how it really looks.

ยท

I'm concerned that it will be too thick. At 14mm it's a lot thicker than the original ETA version.

ยท

first time impression is great. date window should be gone i think

ยท

It looks very well proportioned. Not sure how itโ€™ll wear on my 6.5โ€ wrist and the date window is fine for me. ๐Ÿ‘

ยท

Prefer the blue variant. But itโ€™s certainly an attractive watch.ย

ยท

Iโ€˜ve seen it in my Instagram feed this morning and I fell in love instantly. Will definitely get one, so stay tuned ๐Ÿ˜

Same here, love at first sight ๐Ÿ˜‚ but I will know if I really like it after checking it out in person. June 2022 ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I know I'm going against the grain here... but I think people are going to be a tad bit disappointed when the real watch comes out. Why do I say that?

It uses a 7753 movement - that movement in any mainstream watch to date has meant a watch of thickness of about 14mm. i.e. very thick and not svelte / streamlined - the very antithesis of what makes the PRX so good looking to begin with.

And, I know I am speculating, but.... I don't think it is surprising at all that Tissot has NOT put the thickness of the watch anywhere in its media release or even shared it with the watch media.

Coincidence? Well I hope to be proven wrong - but I am not holding my breath!

Sorry to be a downer guys!

ยท

I am a sucker for a panda dial. Pics look great I would want to try one on as comments are right the main reason I liked the PRX more than the Gentleman was due to the light weight and thin case.

ยท

From the article regarding the size: "...but itโ€™s still wearable for a modern wrist..." What does that mean, is my wrist outdated? But seriously, I would be a tad nervous how that watch wears.

ยท

Initially I was thinking this would have been quartz because the other PRXโ€˜s are all quite thin. Surprised to see it then housed a 7753 which is a thick movement, personally does not bother me but I know it certainly will some others. Anyway its a great looking chrono that fits well in Tissots line up, I think it will sell well ๐Ÿ‘

ยท

I've been ambivalent about the prx line from the start because something always just felt incomplete or off about it. But this? I kinda like it so far.

ยท

If it didnt have the date, I would be buying one AS and P. ย Im a "maybe" with the date. ย I do love Tissot chronos.ย

ยท

Honesty a little surprised they didn't release a quartz version first (with smaller and thinner case). It's a looker on paper/photo definitely though!

ยท

Looks like a stunner to me. Only trouble is the size. The 40mm PRX was somehow too big for me, and this is going to be 42.ย

I get what you are saying! I have a Khaki chrono with a Valjoux 7750, its a 38mm watch with a 15mm diameter. It sounds weird, but in real life I love how chunky it is, and I wear it on a solid bracelet, so its heavy, very heavy! Not for everybbody, but I do like it. As I said, I get your take on it! A lot of people dislike anything over 12/13mm thick, and I understand that point of view ๐Ÿ˜‰

ยท

Beautiful watches from the renderings, I love the pushers. I won't be able to wear it. The current Tissot PRX is too large for my wrists, I can't imagine this.

Yeap, we will need to check it out in real life

****Little Update in case you are interested, Teddy has just released a video about it.*****

ยท

we all love tissot, and itยดs great existence, but does this watch brings anything new to the watch world...? ๐Ÿ˜•

ยท

seeing it for the first time, first watch that came to my mind was the Overseas Chronograph

ยท

I'd definitely like to see this one in person and have a chance to try it on. I suspect that it will wear too big for my 17cm wrist, but if not, the combination of design and price makes it quite attractive.

ยท

Definitly some design cues from the Zenith Defy 21 as previously mentioned. Nothing wrong with that. At this point in time mostly everything has been seen and done ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

Everyone is different. This watch does nothing for me. I prefer the Tissot Heritage 1973. That re-issue was fire โŒš๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ฅ. Then again, I'm a Vintage Nut!

As others have said, it's hype worthy but it does seem to be a big boi at the current size. Hope it's not too chunky for my relatively tiny wrists.ย

ยท

14.5mm. And that bulky case... Nope. It's nice, but with a hefty integrated bracelet it'll weigh just too much. I prefer my watches not pulling my arm down

ยท

I am probably the only one... but this is my favorite looking PRX:

The PRX has a great design and congratulations to Tissot for bringing it back. I like the chronograph variation, but unfortunately it doesn't have the tapisserie dial like the three hander. Regarding the thickness, well you have to put it on the wrist to judge it in the end. Especially with this integrated bracelet design.
