SOTC 2023 Part 2

Expanding the collection while trying to diversify brands and complications (Chrono, no-date, date, GMT, triple calendar). Newest addition is the JLC Master Control Calendar; it felt like the right time to add a nice dressy piece on a leather strap.

So far not too much redundancy and hoping to keep it that way, but it sure is a struggle with how many nice watches exist nowadays. The glaring gap is the lack of a diver, but I'm sure I'll fix that someday once I find the right piece.

Let's see everyone's newest additions or favourite dive watches!

Great collection!

Love the collection and theme you are going with.

I bought the Speedmaster earlier this year and am planning on adding the Santos next. Such a great one-two punch!

·

Nice work. I really the JLC. That was a great pick up. It will be easy to wear them all with a smile. Congrats!

·

Wow your collection is pure chef’s kiss! Well done. Maybe some color dial variations in the future? 🤙❤️

·

Nice collection!!! Lots of heavy hitters. That JLC annual calendar is awesome! Thinking about that one or the chrono version for myself at one point. You pretty much have everything I’d ever need. But if you have to add, maybe a diver, pilot and field. LOL. Sorry man, this collecting thing is a problem. Maybe consider swapping the GS GMT for a Pepsi or Batgirl for more variety?

I secretly count the Santos as my "Pilot" watch, 🤣

I'm probably boring, but I imagine a Sub in my distant future to someday fill the diver void.

I know it was the “original” pilot, but Cartier really made it so fancy I see it as a dress watch now. That said, then it opens a slot for a dress watch!

If you don’t go Pepsi/Batgirl, then a Sub is natural choice. You can’t go wrong. Or maybe a Fifty-Fathoms? I personally like the Sub (no matter what anyone else says) better.

·

In a perfect world, where we are normal people this is pretty much, IT. Perfect collection with all bases covered and nothing needed... alas, we are not normal and I'm sure this fine family shall gladly accept some more siblings, until then... what a beautiful growing collection my friend.

·

Wow that’s a rare one?

Which watch?

None I’m talking about empty slots in a watch box 😅

Would always love to add a Pepsi/Batgirl, or even the new two tone with black/gray bezel, but they're just a little too tough to come by nowadays and I refuse to pay over retail. It's going to be a waiting game unfortunately..

100% agree. I know this will never happen, but maybe when the economy implodes we’ll be able to come into an AD and buy these under these inflated retail prices. The angst filled me wants to go in and ask for a 20% discount. Sigh. Maybe in a different universe. On the positive side, been hearing some are able to get Subs, DJs and Explorers without long waits(2-3 months).

Congrats on a phenomenal piece. I’m hoping to add the Master Control Date or Calendar soon. How is the thickness on the calendar?

And seriously, what a collection!!!

Thanks!

The calendar is roughly 11mm, feels quite thin from my perspective, but most of my other pieces with the exception of the Santos are on the thicker side. It lays nicely on the wrist; I'm itching to play around with some new straps.

Good to learn, I tried the Date and Calendar Chronograph at the boutique. The Chrono was on bracelet so I didn’t didn’t get a sense of what the Calendar would be.

The Date is simplistic beauty, but JLC’s moon phases are some of then best in the business and the romantic pointer date and how it jumps the moon so as not to block the view is pure class.

The Date seemed like a strap monster that could be dressed up or down so I’m sure your calendar is the same.

I think the Master Control Calender is a masterpiece. And so is your collection.

·

Nice collection! All watches that I will someday want to add to my collection

·

Nice quality collection, well done 👍🏼. You have pretty much everything I would be happy to possess also . Maybe an Explorer II polar dial ? And a Doxa 300 🙂

·

A tasty selection there my friend! Could you shed some light on what the box you have is please?

·

What a classy collection! Congratulations. (that JLC 😍)

·

This is class. I love a dive watch (who doesn’t?) but I think you should be applauded for not going that route in your top pieces yet.

·

Nice collection. What do you think about slga009?

·

Any blue dials on the radar?

I'm using the NANUK 910, absolutely love it!

Nice collection. What do you think about slga009?

It's my favourite release by GS, particularly this SD variant over the HB (the dial has small/moderate differences that are all important to me). It wears like a dream, perfectly hugs the wrist, and I personally really like the wider bracelet and it gives it more presence.

·

Ooooo nice solid collection, maybe (like others have mentioned) some colourful dials :)

·

Congratulations! Nice collection. 🍾

·

What a straightforward collection! No redundancy, no piece that yeild even slightest regret. Especially, no overhyped watch

·

Nice collection
