The way I percieve luxury watches (and luxury for me means that the unecesary item I bought has a big opportunity cost) is that when you achieve something in life thats important to you, you pick a fantastic and beautiful timepiece that you really love for your own reasons and keep that one incredible (and expensive) watch till you drop dead 40,50,60 years from now and someone you love can inherit it and keep it in the family. For me a watch with a special price has to come with a special reason for purchase. I couldnt keep a bunch of "achivement" watches in a box and treat them like jewelry. For style and fun and experimenting there are the micros and the japanese, germans so on. Lot cheaper which means lot less anxiety and you can keep, trade, sell them and have a bunch of fun.
So my conclusion for this long ass comment is: either keep the omega, but keep it for the rest of your life and be a happy and proud one watch guy with an awesome watch, or sell it and have fun with a bunch of micros and ignore the percieved value swiss brands are trying to market in your brain.😄
Im not sure I agree, an aqua terra is what, 4-5-6 thousand us dollars? My zelos cost 500 and has all the bells and whistles you could think of with exceptional finishing and attention to detail. It is also more rare than any omega could be.
The AT is a fine watch but is it 8-10 times better because of the better accuracy by a couple of seconds?
Actually, a picture of the c63 gmt with the 36mm case was the one that led me to my decision to thin the herd and get something that is just perfect for every occasion. Lovely watch, but Im not sure I actually feel anything when I look at it. Its perfect but it doesent really givee the fizz for some reason.
Thanks for the comment tho, CW is definetelly a brand to keep in mind.😃
Yes, Im lusting after a german flieger. Used to have an augsburg but didnt like tje lack of wr, so I let go of it. The pro could be perfect but I wish they offered a sand blasted bracelet for the sand blasted case.
Great choices, I already have a turtle, so cushion case box is ticked, and for some reason I just dont like tissot. Idk, feels a bit comercial and soulless to me. A nice integrated watch would be cool tho, I did look at yemas wristmaster.
Thanks for the input, I appreciate it!
