SOTC, in case anyone wonders

I really enjoy looking at my watches. Taking them in the hand. Putting them on. Comparing them. It would be fine doing alone, but us, humans are very social creatures. For some reason we feel a strong urge to share something with somebody, even if they didnt ask for it.

So anyway, my imaginary friends aint enough no more, so now you have to look at my watches.

The Seiko Trio

Image

The two on the right were my fathers pieces, one for his 18th the other for his 25th birthday (given by his parents and then my mother) so they are quite special. I dont wear them tho, theyre only sentimental.

The vintage 5 I found on the street while running in the early AMs like a crazy person, it pretty much started my unhealthy interest in watches.

The Casitrio

Image

The mean and steel one was a gift I asked for (not yet into watches, but it seems I had a great taste to begin with), the Casioak was the first watch I researched and bought for myself, and the braceleted square was a bargain find on face marketplace. Solar powered, bluethoot connecting, worldtimestopwachalarmtimer bad mofo, which is basically undestructable. It is, I believe, the best watch in the world. (paid something like 75 usd for it)

Not mine, but I still wear them category

Image

The pagani roller, I bought for myself, but turned out to be too big, and my dad was really fond of it. He doesent want to admit, but he likes watches too, and he never had a mechanical watch before. As his 50th birthday is coming up, it is a shame and disgrace, that a cool, hardworking and generally badass guy like my dad newer owned such an interesting timepiece before, so I gifted it to him, and he was over the moon about it.

The lennox next to it is his preveous watch, a gift from my mother. It is a chronograph looking watch, with three subdials, all shoving 24 hour time, and two buttons which function is nonexistent. It is basically rubbish, but we all love it because of its looks, and history in the family.

Finally, the everyday, beater gada category

Image

Well not exactly beaters, those are the g shocks, and not exactly gada, those are the g shocks as well, but everyday! Kind of. Only one at a day. Sometimes two when I change up. Or three. You get the idea.

The beauty on the rubber is my Vertigo diver one. My first (and currently last) expensive watch I bought, with my first paycheck. ( I was cleaning a goddamn stinky hummus factory for 12 hours a day, so ot is a reminder to avoid manual labour at all cost)

It is a great watch, costs less than a seiko 5(almost), has 300m, saphire, solid link bracelet with milled clasp, a pretty good bezel and a kinky yellow minute hand.

The Invicta is big, loud and shiny, and I love it. Especially on this bond nato, which fits it like a glove. It was a gift from my uncle, and Ive been pretty ruthless with it, had to change the chrystal because I broke it (there may or may not have been alcohol involved), and wore it pretty much every day during my high school years.

And my most recent purchase, the pagani explorer. Todays my first day owning it, so I cant say much about it, except that its very comfortable to wear.

If you read the post this far...whats wrong with you? Dont you have better things to do?

But if you did go all the way, thank you for reading and feel free to give your opinion, or maybe, do an sotc post as well! Im sure I would like to read it.

Patrik, it was a pleasure reading your story, finally I see someone my age! Haha.

I love your collection, your watches look great and you have put some thought in these purchases! I can relate to the father part to, he came to visit me a few months ago and I asked him if he liked watches as I have never seen him wear one. He said he would wear a watch if he had one, so obv next thing I did was to get him a gshock as the one in the middle of your Casiotrio!

Can’t wait to see what your next purchase will be! I have just ordered a box to store my watches so I can finally have them organized.

Oh and btw, the Seiko in the middle looks WORLD CLASS, if I were you I would definitely take it for a walk one a week at least

Really nice hearing you story! And great collection you have, I love the diversity in styles and stories!

I love the Seiko 5, really need that shape in my collection. I'm not surprised it started your interest.

Awesome collection so far and great to see I'm not the only person who categorizes their watches. 👍

Thanks, for some reason it reminds me of an old italian mobster guy. I always had great imagination. Someone left it in a very bad shape, broken, twisted bracelet, broken hardlex, but the movement worked perfectly. I took it to a watchmaker, he tried to sell me a full service, but I reclined, because it worked and Im broke😄

I bought a new bracelet for it, and someday I will get the hardlex fixed.

Thanks! I think putting them in categories gives the watches more meaning, thus justifying former purchases, and it creates empty spaces, new needs, which justify new purchases! Its a great game as long as the power is still connected to the house😁
