straps are just consumables and are not meant to last. going thru a couple a year is a small price to pay for the comfort. Any aftermarket bracelet is better than factory Seiko supplied ones. I went to cheap nato's that wash easy and look good while being the most comfortable option.
sometimes Youtube is better than Google for finding and doing stuff. There are a couple videos there for installing those links. Just enter steeldive in the search field
The Chinese fake watch industry is branching out into unique designs now and gaining credibility as legit companies. Most just use the better more reliable Japanese movements.
Gravity messes with the accuracy of the movements and gives different timegrapher readings in the 6 positions they check for. They go for a small average of them and adjust them that way. I think crown down is the best one as thats the position of them most of the time when on wrist.
90% of the watchmakers out there just change batteries and the other 10% have to charge handsomely to keep their doors open. Parts are crazy expensive and insane expensive for vintage. Service around $300.00 plus parts.
