Those gas station watches and the George brand walmart sells are a great parts source. The leather straps and sailcloth straps are not bad. The dials are useless but you can pry off the indices and numbers for a project. I get those for around 10 bucks and toss the rest of the watch. Quarts hands are good too for the Swiss Ronda projects I do.

Good idea.
💸Any recommendations for “long” leather watch straps? Pickings are slim unless I go custom, which adds up after a while.
An eye for a bargain always a good thing, and a second life for the parts is great.

The nice thing about gas station watches is that you can put your hands on them and measure them without asking a hot breather to show them too you.
