Longines does assembly, finishing, and their own modifications to the movements in the Longines manufacture. Teddy has also visited there and made a video on that. He was really impressed by Longines history and how much movement work they actually do "in house".
I think the framed date would look out of place here. Their other models with framed dates have applied indices, these are painted. The date frame would be the only applied thing on the entire dial.
I actually liked the look of this so much I bought a vintage Longines diver that looked similar, but the new releases are just too big for my taste. This one is 38mm:
Now just waiting on Longines to send it back after its extensive servicing...
Throw it on a less dressy leather strap, maybe something light brown with vintage stitching, and wear it with casual clothes like a normal t shirt. Noone will know its a dress watch.
