Nah, Tudor now is what Rolex was 20 years ago.
Rolex have become too "nice" so to speak, the Rolex hype have put Rolex in a different spot than they used to be.
Poor Man's Rolex was a thing back when Tudor consisted of Rolex cases housing ETA movements.
Probably a JLC Geophysic True Second
It's elegant, yet not too elegant for casual wear, simple design with a legible dial, beautiful movement and a truly unique complication.
It goes under the radar for everyone who isn't deeply into watches and JLC and I really like that aspect about it too.
I think the IWC Aquatimer is super cool and severely underrated.
It was THE watch that made me fall in love with wristwatches. Before I heard about IWC, I was somewhat into watches but it was all about designer-quartz watches like Festina and Fossil.
I remember I had somewhat recently bought a Maserati Quartz Chronograph with a pretty cool design, I liked it a lot and personally thought a lot of these expensive Swiss brands were boring and uninteresting.
While on vacation with my parents (I think we were in Germany), my dad and I decided to check out some watch dealers just to have a look and on our way out we were handed these free catalogues, one of those being an IWC catalogue.
When we got back to the vacation home I started looking through this catalogue and then I saw the IWC Aquatimer, black dial on black rubber and it looked so effin' cool!
Such a clean design and nothing like anything I've seen before or since!
Man I still think it's so cool!
It became a dream of mine to some day own an IWC if I could ever afford it, it seemed like an impossible dream for me at the time.
But now that I have bought several watches in this price range, it just dawned on me that I haven't fulfilled my teenage dream.
My taste has changed quite a bit and I'm just worried I won't end up wearing it all that often if I ever decide to buy one, it's simply too big and tall for me.
Tool watches are cool, but dress watches are my true passion these days.
I think IWC make some of the cleanest contemporary designs in the industry and I'm still considering getting an IWC some day, I just can't decide which one.
In short: Incredible watch! One of the most overlooked divewatches in its price segment.
Honestly I think he just decided to see how it turns out, I presume he's making a small profit from it but probably not much, otherwise I can't imagine he'd keep this thing going this long.
I think the joke got old pretty quickly, in my opinion the original kickstarter-video skit was enough.
It's a very beautiful watch indeed.
I just personally wish it was smaller and if they used a manual movement instead of an automatic to also slim it down a bit then I would probably buy one right now.
