The best Longines? Vintage inspired Longines. Agree?

Longines has a super rich history to drawn from. So many complications, unique pieces, innovative creations. I truly believe they represent great value and are a wonderful option for someone trying to go into the luxury automatic swiss watch world. Are they the only ones? Absolutely not. I just happen to be a fan of the brand and want to make my case.

Below are some of my favorite watches from Longines. What are your thoughts on the brand? What do you think about them? Fairly priced? Overrated? Not a good option? Excellent watches?

Did I miss an incredible model in this post? If so, which one?

Haven’t got one but I have a soft spot for the Bigeye. But Longines walking on water right now. So many great models. Both Heritage and temporary.

·

3 of these four would make a great collection, Lindburgh is a special and unique piece

Yup, saw that video a few days ago…. Thanks for sharing. It is indeed fascinating to see, and at the same time it scares the s#!t out of me to think one of these days they will pull an Omega/JLC move on us and increase the prices absurdly.

I think this is the best time for people to buy a Longines watch. I agree with you on the Bigeye, however, I’m absurdly attracted to the titanium one. That’s the one I hope to get sooner than later. Would become my most expensive watch by large.

I agree, although the Heritage Chrono and the Bigeye seem kind of redundant to me in the same collection. And one diver would be missing. But I agree with you. Definitely Longines is a cool brand to create a collection with.

Agree, not got one yet but will do.

Probably the military, tho that Lindbergh is a Grail 😍👍🏻

·

You’re spot on. Longines has been doing vintage reissues longer and better than almost everyone else.

·

I would choose the military just because I like it simple. Chronos are not my thing.

Get one while you can 😉

Imo the best current one that’s a throwback to one of their previous designs is the sector dial.

·

This is my only Longines, but got my eye on a Spirit.

D, only a few brands has long enough history to made those.

I’ve been torn between the Titanium Bigeye and the Lindbergh. In the end, I think I’ll go for the Bigeye, but if I ever get a chance down the road to get the Lindbergh, I will. Those are my two favorites from the bunch. Amazing watches with great design and a lot of heritage.

I agree, and at relatively speaking affordable prices. That’s very important to me too. Although I’d love to plunge $10k+ on watches, I can’t. So having alternatives that are usually less expensive than yhe Tudors and Omegas of the world is a big win in my book.

There’s something attractive about simplicity. Specially for that watch. I appreciate the fact that they didn’t put a date on it. The dial texture is not my favorite, but I still respect the design a ton!

I’m saving as much as I can to go for the Bigeye in Titanium ASAP. Will keep y’all posted whenever I can make it happen.

Love the brand and all those options are great ones! My personal favorite is the 37mm spirit on a bracelet!

Indeed. The sector is fantastic. One of the most versatile watches from Longines. Goes well with leather, nato, perlon, mesh… can be dressed up or down, good size. Great choice.

A beauty Colin. While not necessarily out of this world, I really like the look of the Longines moonphase watches.

37 is a great size. And I know this might sound weird, but one of the things I love the most about the Spirit is how the diamond tip of the seconds hand align with the minute markers… exquisite design detail in my weird opinion.

I agree…. The other brand who could make a bigger deal out of it, and as far as I know, don’t do it is Cartier with the Dumont. But to be honest I prefer the Lindbergh by a mile and a half over the Santos Dumont.

Lindbergh from that selection. Also, see my post here:

Everyone sleeps on the Record Chronometer Chronograph. As someone who owns the bigeye, the heritage military AND the record chrono, don't overlook this one:

Is that the Flyback Chrono? Yes, you’re totally right it is wonderful… Super elegant and classy. I’m not a big fan of the bracelet, because it reminds me of the Seamaster, but the dial is fantastic… great pick!

I checked it, and it truly surprised me… Thanks for sharing. You’re very generous. I was so in love with the Zulu Time, but then I tried it on, and something didn’t feel right. I still apreciate it, but I don’t think it is for me… The master collection on that yellow strap looks fantastic, great combination.

Here’s a photo of the day I tried it on.

Not a flyback, standard 30min chrono. Same movement as the tuxedo dial in your poll actually, bit COSC certified.
