Amazon 3rd party seller vs Jomashop vs other grey market?

I've been collecting for a handful of years, but I've only ever bought new (direct from brands) or vintage via eBay.

Aside from the obvious, but useful, advice of buying the seller and keeping good documentation, any reason to go through one grey market seller or another?

I'm looking at a watch available on Amazon through a 3rd party seller, Jomashop, Chrono24, etc etc and the prices are all more or less the same everywhere. I'm trying to determine if there are any differences I might not know about between the various grey market sellers.

As always, thanks in advance Crunchers!

Most of the reputable greys are more or less the same. Get the best deal you can and if you are sticking to the good ones, you are largely protected.

I would not lump Chrono in with Amazon or Joma. Nothing wrong with Chrono, it is simply they are a different type of marketplace.

Okay, that's about what I expected and good to hear.

As for Chrono24, I wouldn't normally lump them in with the others, but in this case the individual sellers were often the same sellers as the 3rd parties on Amazon or eBay.

Chrono24 has AD’s pushing out inventory. As far as Amazon, eBay and Jomashop go, I’ve had good experiences. I probably wouldn’t go through the grey market for a super high end watch. I think my comfort level with them would be something in the sub $1K tier.

Good point, that is absolutely true, but I trust Amazon to resolve issues better than C24, but that is just me.

Only thing I would add is purchasing from Jomashop I believe you get a warranty thru them, whereas on Amazon/Chrono you’d have to look at what the sellers/dealers are offering. That being said, Joma’s warranty might not be worth the paper it’s printed on… I’ve never had to try and take advantage of it.
