The only one you need...?

What, for you, is the only watch you really need?  Here is mine: the Citizen Promaster Tough, titanium.  Otherwise known as the Ray Mears.  A g-shock buster if ever there was one.

First off, you only need one?  That’s a dirty damn lie.

Having said that, in a zombie apocalypse, if I could only take one watch as I fled for the mountains, I’d reach for this first.

Nothing wrong with the watch or the band, but I wouldn’t choose either for a dressy event.  That’s why most of us have multiple watches.  Is it possible to have one pair of shoes suitable for all occasions?  No.

If forced in a life/death/imprisoned scenario to take only one watch, I guarantee my choice would be a G-Shock.

Otherwise if NOT a life/death/imprisoned scenario, I'd always find ways to get more watches.

Only need one watch? I think you've forgot where you are mate! ;)

If I’m allowed to keep my gshock for working out, I might actually pick my 36mm Stowa Flieger. This is the watch I find myself taking when I’m going away for a week and only take one watch. It looks great on nylon and since it’s simple and small, it doesn’t look out of place on leather with something more dressy. Great watch and a great brand with great people working there.

TIMEX EASY READER

The best watch. Easy to read, goes with everything, lights up in the dark, day and date, ten year battery. Nothing else compares. If they'd make this thing with a stainless case, I'd buy another. If they made some automatic version with a screw-down crown and a GMT function and rose gold, I wouldn't touch that turd with a ten foot pole. I need to get an expansion band for it to make a truly perfect watch.

The Seiko Arnie would be my choice. Look at the abuse it took in his movies. 😆

Can't wait for your next watch to arrive!

I've always liked that titanium Ray Mears Citizen. I've almost bought it from the UK several times, but I just can't justify it right now. IMHO they are very cool tool watches.

I'd go sans watch if I'm doing something physical. If I need a clock for something during work I'll just pull out my phone.

I would totally wear my Chucks to any wedding or funeral. I personally hate dressing up. So wearing comfortable clothes and sensible shoes to dressier occasions is ok to me. My wife.......🤔🤔🤔🤔

In truth, I do pack like that. But I'll also pack at least 3 watches, plus, the 1 I'm wearing. Got to have choices in my watches.

I love your watch, but my one and only would be my Q Timex Coke bezel.  With all my watches, I own, this is the only one I ever got a compliment from a stranger.  Of course, that's not why it's my one and only, I just never get tired of looking at it.

I don't need any of them.

But if it the vengeful demon of minimalism would force me to pick just one watch ..

Been waiting on the price to drop on the Titanium Tough and Citizen just put it up by £50. Ffs 🤦🏻‍♂️

Good choice

Snap, although my new Islander ISL100 would be a great pick too

Not quite the Citizen Promaster tough,  but close, a BM6400 2009 vintage!

I would pick one of these two:

Tough construction extremely good legibility, with useful functions. Funnily enough they are both the lowest monetary value watches in my mainly automatic collection  by a long way, but probably both the best value for money if I’m completely honest.
