Looking to add a red dial to my collection. So far, the Farer is the most attractive I could find but a bit too small for me. It’s 36mm.
I would appreciate your suggestions. Besides dial color, the ideal watch will be a 39-41mm, quartz or automatic (no manuals) and a dress or sports watch. No divers or chronographs. Budget is $1k. Thx.

torn bw the red and green myself!
You and Mr. Wonderful...
The Farer dials are striking.
I was looking at that same Farer, but I read reviews that the legibility was not the greatest. I ended up going for this Presage and got 30% off from an AD! :)

Spot on. The blue pointer is a really nice touch.

That looks great on a bracelet. Do you happen to know the model number? It doesn’t look the same as the SRPE 41 referenced above but it could me.
Farer does make a burgundy version in a 39.5mm case-the Discovery II.
If you want a dress watch, get the Seiko SRPE41 Negroni. 38.5mm case.
Or for a sports watch, I would go for the Presage sharp edge SPB227. 39mm case.
Thanks. The discovery ii is advertised as purple but agree burgundy is a better description. SPB227 looks great with the bracelet. Thx.
Have you seen the Orion Hellcat? If I remember right it’s a 38mm. So maybe too small, but I think the red dial is gorgeous.

Nope. But I’ll take a look. Thanks.

@nightfury95 beat me to it SPB227! ❤
I was looking for a Red dial several months ago and decided on the Nodus Sector Red Tide - I'm very happy with it (it'my 2nd Nodus)

This one is also awesome! I have it in white for now, but I posted it on eBay so may be selling it in a few days. Beads of rice bracelet is sweet.
Don't have first-hand experience, but I'm tempted to get some.

From the affordable section, Buyalov classica-Red dial is cool with Miyota movement.
I have got a green version of it replaced the strap with the metal bracelet, and became an eye catcher.
Thx. Color, specs and price are spot on. The numerals are not my style though.
Take a look at the Pinion Neutron SE.

I have the blue dialed version (I usually wear it on Milanese mesh) and absolutely love it. 38mm and 11mm thick are just about perfect proportions on my 7.25” wrist. First pic is Pinion’s promo shot of the red dial version, second pic is of my blue dial on mesh.
I picked up this Invicta pro 38475 for under $50 it's 38mm with a 20mm bracelet. Its supposed to be a ladies but doesn't wear like one.

That is a looker. I love the clean dial particularly the placement of pinion above the 12 position. Will def give it a look!!

That may be my first Invicta purchase! Thx.

Everything is just proportioned and designed so well, which makes sense as the owner (Pinion is a MICRO microbrand) is a graphical designer in his day job.
Seiko presage Star Bar limited edition “Red Brick”. Not a good driving watch because it is hard to take your eyes off of it when the sun is out. Lol

That’s one of their best skeleton releases and preowned prices are at good levels. Seiko definitely has a bunch of strong contenders.
I want to say it was right around $600us new. So not too bad and almost every time I wear it someone comments on it.

1000% agree … if your looking for a red dial this is easily under 1k$ beautiful pattern and color .. I would pick this one up in a heartbeat
I think that is one of those dial colors which is rare to find well done. The one that’s really been drawing me in is the orange big crown pointer date in ox blood.
This one is very playful 😙

I’ve been looking at the Certina DS-2 but I think I like the Oris better. Tough call.

There’s a lot going on. I like it.
Checking in with my spb227. Great watch! I usually wear it on a leather strap instead of the bracelet
