Name a brand you think deserves more love ๐Ÿ’–

I think everyone knows at least one brand you absolutely adore but you rarely see on WC or social media in general.

Let's see them and explain why they are special for you! :)

For me it's OrientStar, their entry level watches from Orient are without a doubt very popular but i rarely see their "premium" brand OrientStar around very often. Maybe it's due to their focus on the japanese market or whatever but still, awesome brand and still value monsters! Also, let's all don't forget that just like Orient, OrientStar movements are all in-house ๐Ÿ˜Ž

By the way, @Max @WatchCrunch, wouldn't a OrientStar badge be cool? ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ตโญ๏ธ

Orient is great, I own one, but one love I have is of course for G-Shock they keep reinventing what they do and it's an incredible ride to follow what they do with MRGs MTGs the mud masters and their collaboration watches, let alone the modding community they have.

i wear a g shock everyday for work, absolute beast

Me too, for me I am always telling the story of G-Shock to those who wear the higher end brands. And I never tire of it! Lol

I feel the same way about Orient Star and Grand Seiko. Love love love their design language and aesthetic. Not a fan of their compound name blurrying the line with their more affordable sibling, mediocre logo design and poor choice of typefaces. It's a real shame that they do such a meh job at branding, when the watches behind the brand are that impressive.

My pick for "underrated" brand would be Orient. It seems they are always overshadowed by Seiko, Citizen and Casio when talking about Japanese brands, but to me they deliver a better value watch than all of those and should be at the forefront of the conversation.

I think G-Shock is probably the brand/collection that arguably has the most love out of the whole watch industry.

By WISes orient isnโ€™t underrated. I see their watches all the time on watch forums. However, when it comes to the general watch buying public, I totally agree.

Vario. Their stuff is just amazing. I love my 1918 Trench

A big one Iโ€™d say is Rado. Their focus on ceramics is super interesting. The only reason Iโ€™m not drawn to them as much is because their focus isnโ€™t on more conventionally attractive watches like the Golden Horse.

yea true, big fan of the Captain Cook!

MONTA for sure! Not only is the finishing and attention to detail amazing, but they hold multiple patents as well. They make great watches AND innovate.

yep! the Triumph is on my list! only problem is the huge amount of taxes and customs when buying from overseas so i'm looking for one second hand in the EU

I own two Orient Stars and both are great. I just wished the would diversify a bit more. Most of their range seems to consist of dressy sports watches with open hearts. Thatโ€˜s not something Iโ€˜d want to wear.

Preach brother! G-Shock is definitely up there for me. It's my daily workhorse too

ยท

Zenith for sure!

KNIS this watch isn't all that well presented on YouTube by reviewers, and I'm kind of glad ๐Ÿ˜Š, I have only just discovered this brand. I have the KN002 and the black dial is something else, it's flat back in some light and in others it's got that kind of metallic paint sparkle.

I personally like and own two watches produced by Baume&Mercier, the first a gift from my wife and daughters 20 years ago, more recently a moonphase that I bought last October to one day pass along to my baby grand daughter who arrived one morning in October. Whether the brand deserves more love is not for me to say.

Junghans, OS seemed to be held back by its umbrella (example the power reserve that used to be a hallmark of orient, now only reserve to OS), love to see if they revive royal orient to compete with ks, the OS has better value by its complications compared to presage, but limited to their finishing or artistry part.

Phylida - I know it sound like an STD ๐Ÿคฃ but man this Chinese Special brand makes some awesome watches for $250 CDN ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿฝ

I learned the other day that Ball has tritium tubes instead of lime. They are pretty cool! Cheers, Steve.

I believe they do on all their watches. Dug up a dark shot for you. Even the moon has tritium tubes behind it.

Great diver! I am really liking Mido these days.

Mido. One of the most overlooked brands in the Swatch group (at least here in the U.S.) The case finishing and attention to detail on my Oceanstar 200c is easily on par with my Longines Spirit, which is another step up the Swatch hierarchy. If they had a bit more brand cache, Iโ€™m sure they could occupy the $1500-$2500 tier as opposed to the $500-$1000 where they currently sit.

I will say, a good bit of their catalog is behind the times where case sizing is concerned, but theyโ€™re moving in the right direction.

Their build quality is second to none at the price point, and their history is actually remarkable. I absolutely love Mido, but do wish the 200c was 40mmโ€ฆ the only reason why I sold it on. The tribute models hit the sizing mark pretty well though.
