Not sure about the compass bezel. Don't know why they didn't just put a dive bezel on it. Would make a handsome dive watch

I don't know. In my opinion, it's pretty meh. It doesn't do anything for me, and somehow the bezel reminds me of Vostok or Timex ;)

Not a fan of the wearing experience of Hamilton watches in general after trying the HKFM and auto. Their lug design doesn't work well with my wrist shape I guess. I haven't tried this new release but at nearly double the price of the original Khaki Field models it's a pass for me.

Good that they released 2 sizes right off the bat though. More brands should do that.

Nice looking watch and something a little different for Hamilton. Agree that the compass bezel has little or no usefullness but, in my case, neither do an elapsed time or tachy bezel.

Great looking watch with a nifty bezel but too early to tell. Need to try it on at a store.

I think it's a great piece and strong competitor for the Seiko Alpinist. A bit bigger but also thinner. I really like it and am considering shaking up my collection to add it in.

Stop with the faux patina already! Those five minutes of fame are over. I think faux patina is the single reason that field watches don't speak to me.

It's just okay to me. Not a fan of the compass bezel on any watch. Not a head turner imo

I like the smaller, black dial variant. The price, not so much.

I will say Hamilton might eventually have another winner here. Different but the same, and fits the field series well.

Not super impressed to be honest. Timex Expedition exists and is far more affordable, and the Field Khaki Mechnical will always have a history and timeless field watch style. For some reason I feel like this falls in a purgatory between them and I would rather have both a Timex and Field Khaki Mechanical for far less money.

Getting flogging a dead horse vibes. Yet another bland field watch? Hamilton's heritage and back catalogue is so much more than just field watches. E.g. The WW2 marine chronometers, railroad watches, funky 50s and 60s dress watches.

It’s nice and would momentarily fill the void for my interest in an old Breitling Colt, especially the blue dial variant.

I actually like the idea of a compass bezel. Kind of makes these watches stand out from a sea of dive watches available nowadays. 😉

Someone on the Hamilton design team noted the popularity of the Seiko Alpinist and thought they also needed a compass bezel watch. Little did they know, we hate the compass bezel in the Seiko too. It would be so easy to offer this watch in a dive bezel as well. And a 6:00 date. And then I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Love the size. Love the new font and the hand shapes. I even like the idea of a rotating bezel (if it wasn't a compass bezel).

I would love to see them offer both dive and compass bezel, and release the numbers of sales of each model.

This is the thing about tastes in watch design. ... . everybody has their own criteria and its very subjective. Initially when i saw pictures of this i immediately thought wow thats a handsome watch, which it is, but i know after a time that bezel would bother me. It just highlights the subjective and very ocd nature of watch addiction 🤣. I mean me personally i don't like 6 oclock date position, it bothers me but if the rest of the watch ticks my boxes I'll put up with it. Very fickle business this hobby

Just watched your video on this and I'm livid that you made me go from 0 to 60 on it! Great looking watch and the proportions are tremendous for smaller wrists (basically the same size as an Explorer 1 from what I can tell.)

Price tag is bonkers, but I'm going to sell my Khaki Field Auto and wait for used ones to start popping up. Thanks for the fun video.

I'm a huge fan of the #hamilton brand, and any new release from them always gets me excited. While these two watches look fantastic, I get the feeling that they're trying to get closer to Tudor and Rolex designs, so I'm not sure if I like them. Personally, I prefer a simpler field watch that serves its purpose of being straightforward and blending into the field without looking like you forgot to take off your #divewatch for the picnic...😂

I like Hamilton and I love field watches; BUT, I’m not a boy-scout!!! Compass bezels are my biggest turn-off on a watch; I don’t see the point.
