Are Casio Watches more than beater watches to you?

I love Casio! Anyone that has seen my YouTube or IG content can tell I’m a Casioaholic! It stems from me being of a certain age where by having a digital watch on your wrist was very cool! Funny how it’s turn full circle and become cool again!! Anyway! I know a lot of watch enthusiasts have casios in their watch collections . they are the beaters of the collection, the take anywhere, do anything with watch to them! But!!! I wonder how many people on here feel stronger about the Casio, maybe only collect or wear Casio ? I have some beating Casio’s and some vintage ones I wouldn't beat!;) Also what is your favourite Casio and why?! Mine is the CA53W and it was the first watch I remember buying with my mum!!;)

Me and My Casio on the beach! The daily beater that beats and puts Rolex Omega AP PP to sleep. $25 with world time/chronograph/accuracy/power reserve/alarm. 🤪

Casio Rocks!

My collection has two Casios, an F91w and an F105w and both are my beaters. I wear them when doing garden work or other „harder“ work, I take them with me when alcohol is involved, etc.

Both ones I own are dirt cheap and not at all collectibles. Maybe I am too spoiled, but Casios are just beaters for me, if I’d collect cheaper watches, I’d most likely choose Swatch‘es.

My first ever dive watch was the Casio Duro. I wore the hell out of it everywhere I went, it has dings, scratches, and I even tried doing a slight modification by fully brushing the case to a semi-matte finish and accidentally overbleaching the bezel to a complete ghost look. It doesn't get much wrist time but it's truly a mini-tank I can bring anywhere.

Casio for me is a brand that yes, I can consider as "beater watches" but with that connotation also comes with reliability. If I can have at least one thing that is reliable in this ever changing world, it would be a Casio.

Bought my first f91w today, I don’t know why I waited so long, it’s unbelievably cool. think I might go and re watch TGV’s video on how to wear two watches on the one wrist, I’m feeling adventurous

Whenever I'm riding this.

I might have to get the green bezel Duro to be more fashionable.

I'm lusting after the "Mecha G-Shock" (gshock.com/collections/gmwb5000tva) which is well above the price any sane human should pay for a Casio.

I ever acquire one, I would beat the hell out of that watch because I think the more beat up it gets, the cooler it will look by giving off that whole dystopian future-old tech vibe.

·

I think I’m with you. Some are beaters, some are daily wear (and some are both)! But I agree with you. Definitely love Casio and the affordability means you can add a million to your collection!

My first watch I really bonded with was a Casio (1737) AW-45 I bought while in Cork in the late 90's in my early 20's.  I needed an alarm and with the ani-digi dial it looked more "adult." I still have it. Module works, but the case back will no longer screw into the plastic case. Great watch.

·

Yeah I've been watching Planes Trains and Automobiles from 1987 and the scene where Del is trying to pay for his room with his Casio watch always makes me laugh. That was the attitude to Casio back then

My absolute favourite is my first vintage piece - the H101 "Marlin" from 1981. 😎

This is my second AMW320, I bought my first one when I joined the Army in 98 and it died 9 years later when the crystal was smashed. This watch holds a lot of nostalgia and I wouldnt wear it as a beater now. I'd even say it could be my favourite 😀

Casio watches make a large portion of my collection and cheap ones at that. I treat them like I can't  replace them!

Thank you my friend!!!

For me a GA-2100 as a beater.  Nothing against them as seriously good VFM, just less engaged with quartz.

However, still enjoying your obvious enthusiasm for them on YT.

For a time, Casio was my only brand of watch. Later, I ended up going for Seiko aswell, but Casio just has this huuuge part of me! I think, my alltime favorite is this one, the W-57! 😻

It's actually a relatively unknown watch, it has the same functions of the classic f-91w, but an actually good green retro light and the case is almost as robust as a g-shock! Not as robust but close! It has 50m of WR, amazing light, big light button, really readable numbers and it fits my veeery tiny wrist! It's my first ever bought Casio, I got one in 2015, sadly not the one I have now but I kind of prefer the one I have now haha.

It's a hidden gem, and it's just amazing! If you'd ever consider checking it out, I really doubt you'll want to sell it. It comes in a few variations of the colors as well. Mine is silver and blue bezel, black with silver bezel, black and Blue bezel, silver and black bezel, as I recall. These came in the 90's, and I think they were of the sports line? Anyway, I looove it! To me, this is the perfect one! But as my profile picture shows, I have a nr 2, my f-28w. You should check this one out as well

On a daily basis, am not beating anyone or anything at my job. So am treating my Casios just like my Seikos etc. They're all equal...

·

The 80s and 90s were a Casio high point for me, loved my smiley I had back then and yes, it was beaten to death sadly but have managed to source some goodun's

And a couple of Arnie's!

My first Casio watch was a Square G in the late 80's. (My first watch was a Timex Marlin around 1968 to 1970.) The Casio watches are my beater watches. MRW200 and Casio Duro. I love them though!

Hi Russell Big fan of your youtube channel! Thanks for your insight. Love my GShocks too! I have two now: GDB-200 and GD-100 all black. Also have the mission impossible DW-290 thanks to you and TGV. Big hug from Madrid!
