The electro-luminescent technology in the watch industry is still the only with the best results. The A164W sharing the same module, like its brothers (F-91W, A158W, etc.), which weakness is a well-known factor. But my experience is that there is some difference between the ones that made in different countries/factories - I have a japanese A159WG, and it does a better beam.
