Next Watch - Seeking Input

I’m at a point where I’m looking for my next watch, and these are the six I’ve identified as potential suitors.

  • Seiko SPB241

  • CW 36mm sea lander

  • CW 39mm GMT

  • Pitzmann First

  • Tudor 1926 (36mm)

  • Lorca Model 1 GMT

Any personal experience with these would be greatly appreciated or any other recommendations as well.

For reference I have a 6.3-6.5 wrist depending on weather.

Here’s what I’m after:

  • white / beige / champagne dial

  • <39 mm diameter

  • <47 mm lug to lug

  • >= 100m WR

  • Automatic or Mechanical movement

  • GMT would be a nice to have

  • Cost: 2k at max, would love to keep it around 1k

Based purely on looks I’d go for the Lorca

·

I've had the CW C63 GMT for about a year now. I wouldn't trade it for any of the other five watches, including the Tudor.

I bought it on the bracelet, which is great, but I love it on a strap too.

Christopher Ward GMT gets my vote!

Edit! I just saw you have a 6.5 inch wrist. In that case the CW 36mm sea lander gets my vote.

Greatly appreciate the definitiveness, given my wrist size I was a bit concerned with the 39mm of it

Definitely wrestling with the 39mm, wish there was an easy way to try it on. I love the GMT, which is why the Lorca caught my attention, but I don’t have any way to experience that watch

·

CW GMT out of that shortlist 👍🏻

·

I like the Tudor but there all good choices. Good luck!

🍻

·

CW C63 GMT all day! And don’t be afraid of the 39mm. I’ve got the C60 Trident Pro in a 40mm and it fits my 6.5” wrist perfectly!

·

My eyes we’re drawn tot the Pittzman cuz maybe I’m a sucker for small seconds dials…0

·

I think they are all pretty nice except the Lorca.

A few white ideas I have saved.

Sorry some of them are solar.

The Boldr, Casio and first two Citizens above are titanium. Really nice in my opinion. Very light.

·

If you want a dress watch, that Pittman is pure class!

If you want a sports watch, pick your favorite CW.

·

Tudor 1926. I think it’s a classy watch

·

If it were up to me, I’d go with either the Tudor; the case and bracelet are a great match, but I’m not the biggest fan of the numerals on that dial so my other choice would be the Lorca for sure

·

1926 is by far the best

·

I own both the Tudor (in 41) and the C63 GMT (with a blue dial). Between those two I'd have a hard time choosing one. It would very much depend on the state of my collection. They both could be a daily wear depending on your lifestyle.

I will say that they feel much closer in quality than the price difference would suggest.

·

I find the Pitzman mesmerizing. I vote for that one. It's really something special

·

I'd buy the CW C63 three hander. It's perfectly versatile, well finished, and affordable enough that you can wear it anywhere and everywhere without a second though.

I have a C63 and I love it.

That is one beautiful casio moon phase, kale

Yeah they are cool. There's a few versions with different shape of case.

You can see them in my recent post from a few days ago.

·

I've been listing after the Pitzman for awhile. That would be my choice

·

I've got a very similar Alpinist, it's a superb watch, beautifully made & feels & looks far more expensive than it is. I've no hesitation in recommending one.

However, from the list as much as I dislike Tudor as a brand I'd go for that.

For a left field suggestion and something different to the usual suspects.

Stowa marine 36 small seconds

If it were my money? The Tudor. It’s a great looking watch with a perfectly fine ETA/SW movement at a reasonable price. But before long Tudor will start putting an in-house movement it and the price will go through the roof.

But…it ain’t my money, so let us know what you decide. And pics when you get it!

Good call! Stowa makes excellent watches.

·

Based on your likes, that CW GMT is my pic. I've been eyeing that one for a long time and it's a fine watch! The Lorier Hyperior Skyward is another one if you want a pop if color

·

I like the CWard GMT!

·

I'll be keeping my eye out for the Christopher Ward C65 Dune GMT limited edition. Checks all my boxes and almost all of yours

. I'd love to see them re issue this in a white dial.

·

I love the CW GMT but then again, I travel a lot.

·

Hi, I've got a 39mm C63 Sealander on bracelet ( highly recommended) with a blue face. The white face looks stunning but not enough contrast for my eyes. The watch is outstanding value for money, with great finishing, saphire front and back and great dial detail. Time keeping has been pretty good, mine running very well. My only gripe is power reserve. At 38 hours it can be frustrating sometimes. CW customer service is very good too. I think the 36 would be exactly what you're after. It's a strap monster and you'll enjoy the money you'll have saved on a Tudor.

·

I own the CW sealander 39 and love it. It works with any strap or a bracelet. Best strap monster I own
