Alternatives: Longines Legend Diver (36mm)

Any alternatives to the Longines Legend Diver, specifically a dual crown?

- Price: Great under 1k USD

- Dimensions: <= 40mm case / <=47 L2L

- Other factors: I’m not a huge fan of dive watches that have circular or rounded indices. I know this common for dive watches, but I think it makes it look too bubbly / animated, sorry Tudor - the BB isn’t for me

Dan Henry 1970 - I don’t have this one as I have too many divers already

I added the Nodus Duality to my collection recently and it’s pretty great. This is not in stock but I heard that a version 2 might be coming out. Just unconfirmed rumors though.

That Nodus is gorgeous and I think will be the perfect fit; signed up for their newsletter so we’ll see how it progresses.

The Dan Henry is also a solid option, I have his 1964 and there’s that part of me that wants to diversify the companies haha

DH 1964 has been awesome and I hear you about company diversity. Half my collection is tied up in Seikos and Casios 🤣

Was going to be my suggestion. Great looking watch, especially in that colour scheme.

San Martin ?

Malm here in Sweden do a Pilot watch like that.

Got a few different dial colours and I had the blacked out dlc version with a green dial. You can get it with a Sellita SW200-1 movement for about $600 or with the MLJP for around 800.

Above the awesome Baltic is already mentioned, however there is also a Farer which is back in stock with some few upgrades now. Even though it is 41mm, it wears a little smaller than that. And it is just a little above your budget.

In addition, if you'd like to spend almost twice of your budget, what is also on my radar is the Ball Engineer Master II Diver collection. Much more expensive than your budget, 42mm (however it wears like a 40mm) but also chronometer certified, instead of superluminova it has gas tubes etc.

And I know you're looking for under 1000 and 40mm, however this one is also a great alternative to LLD (also leaving this for future reference people who might look dual crown alternatives to LLD)

I've been building a watch database to let people filter watches by specific requirements like yours. Currently I only have around 3000 watches indexed to the database and these are the search results for your specific requirements:

https://www.watchdict.com/search/watch?condition[]=exact,exact,exact,not,exact,any&displayValue[]=,,,,,&field[]=case_diameter,lug_to_lug,price,hours,type,secondary_crowns&pageNo=1&slop[]=1,1,1,1,1,1&value[]=%3C%3D40,%3C%3D47,%3C%3D1000,round%20indices,diver,any

Christopher Ward’s Super Compressor?

An actual super compressor case/technology as opposed to a ‘super compressor style’ watch.

A little bit larger (but wears great even for me) and roughly the same money

Great suggestions above 👍🏻

I’ll suggest the Feynman Cove series, a compressor style crown with a very unique dial 😃

Absolute no brained... go for an actual Supercompressor 👌

Benrus is about to release a faithful reissue of the 36mm Ultra-Deep. Nothing on their web site yet, but reports are around $1000 retail.

I'm kind of surprised it's still not listed. Benrus was showing it in Chicago last month, and Hodinkee has photos. I guess patience is in order.
