I'm feeling torn

So, as a proper Omega fanboi, next purchase will most likely be another Omega, but there are so many great models to choose from, and I don't know which one to pick! Watch nerds, give me your opinions! OK a quick and dirty rundown on all models Dynamic 3 Marui Pro: Rare, 36mm (can be pro or con, depends) Con: Very expensive for a super basic watch really, housing Cal.1108, which is just Omega branded ETA 2892-2, so as basic as it gets, date font doesn't match the rest of numerals, 19mm lug width!!!!!! Weak WR of 50m, or 100m nobody knows really, I can't find any concrete evidence for neither Seamaster GMT Great white Pro: GMT! I know exactly how this watch will wear, because I already have its sibling, the black one, no He valve Con: I already have the black one? Seamaster two-tone Pro: Blingy Con: Blingy but not enough bling on the bracelet compared to the watch head, He valve that I REALLY REALLY REALLY don't need

Cancelling my vote for the Mauri, ‘cause the damn date font doesn’t match dial numerals - wtf Omega??

Haha.. just kidding, love the Marui..yes rare/costly, yes ho-hum ETA, yes it’s afraid of water, yes 19mm lug width but damn, look how beautiful she looks!! 🤙🎯🎯🎯❤️

·

Yeah I love the design myself as well, HOWEVER, take a look at date window, they used the same font from regular Dynamic 3 with Breguet numerals!!!! MAH OCD!!!! Also, that stooopid lug width!

ikkkkkkkkk! It will look like a million bucks on some fabric straps from A.F.0210 or some random NATO strap like bond strap! BUT THAT DATE FONT!!!!

·

They really should've done that indeed, I'm actually playing with the idea of swapping it to something else when it's due for a service, to get more matching look, IF I go for this one

and yeah, I was made aware of this model recently myself, and I looove broad arrow!

HOWEVER, is like twice or thrice the price of regular dynamic 3 really justified?

·

Haha yeah that date font looks so out of place but you know what, that’s what gives this model its unique charm …

Do we really need to bust this out again??😝😝😝

It's quite interesting that nobody voted blingmaster at all so far lol

Oh you and your buk.... eh nvm XDDDDDDDD

·

Yeah it's around 4k to 5k USD iirc

The Great White is the stand out, based on all the information you provide, however, as you already have its sibling, I'd question your sanity buying it. So when even the stand out option is a no, I'd start again.

Pro tip: do the opposite of what the poll results say.

But I don't want to buy an Invicta!

As ever, I voted what I would buy - so of no added value to you, really; in this case the SM GMT because it is by quite a margin the best looking of the three. But you know that already, because you own the black one...

So why not skip the whole font and lug width issue and valves you don't need (same goes for two-tone 😂) and go clean, simple and pretty with a Globemaster? (or do you have that one already as well?)

An interesting take! Thank you! However Constellation, and DeVille family never interested me really, and you know that Globemaster has the heritage from them

Somehow, I've always gravitated toward their sportier offerings

(Yes I do own a vintage DeVille, but it's a heirloom from my grandpa)

Hmmmm..... What is the story behind Marui? This is my first time seeing that watch! Hahaha. Look like a field watch though

·
RenaissanceTinker

Voted for the great white because it’s awesome but….. What about a previous gen Railmaster? They have that Marui vibe about them and no weird date. Something like the 2503.52

Well a good point, 2 reasons, first I love broad arrow, and second, read my past rant about the name Railmaster, I just don't like the name of it... :S

The stock bracelet isnt great, but I have a forstner on mine. Also the hour wheels fail. Other than that its a great over all watch.

I've read about that, mine has not failed me somehow lol

And my bracelet broke, so I've went with bond Nato myself, however, I would love to put those vintage shark mesh bracelet on mine!

Oh that rant was you…. 🙄

Just teasing. We all have triggers. I avoid restaurants that serve “sammies” or “sandos”. “Sandos” in particular drives me effing nuts for some reason.

If you look up the reference number I listed 2503.52 you will see it has a broad arrow minute hand….. the older versions technically were advertised as “SEAMASTER railmasters” or “AQUA TERRA railmasters” might be worth a peek.

TRIGGER WARNING 😉

Broad arrow is an arrow on the dial to denote it's being issued for the uk military...

ANYWAY!

What's wrong with Omega? Sometimes they are just Gibson, their naming conventions just don't make any sense at times

“Broad arrow” could refer to the MOD but it is also commonly used by Omega to describe the type of hands that end in a triangular arrow.

I don’t really see the problem with naming a watch the SEAMASTER AQUA TERRA RAILMASTER. It just kind of rolls off the tongue 😂

The GMT white is beautiful.

The GMT white is beautiful.

it certainly is!

·

How about a regular 2255.80 ? Same great "electric blue" dial, but without the "bling" factor from the two tone.

Image

As @RenaissanceTinker has pointed out, the designation "Broad Arrow" is also commonly associated with the Broad Arrow style hands such as those on the 1957 Speedmaster or the 3551.20 Speedmaster Broad Arrow from the 2000's.

Image
·

I like the Seamaster GMT. The only hangup about it is the aluminum stickered bezel. That can be upgraded fairly easily though.

·

Not all Seamaster two tones are blingy.

Yeah that's true, I usually call them arrow hands to avoid the confusion tho, well I actually do like electric blue myself but come on gold and electric combo is quite nice!

You are right maybe I should save up for all gold Blingmaster professional instead?

Since I already have the black one... It's not that bad tbh sure it's scratched, but then again I've went everywhere with it too
