This is a great model

It's looking great, great caliber, great size, but I just can't stand the name Railmaster

Look, I love omega right? And Speedmaster, Seamaster, all evoke some great adventure feeling, but railmaster? Come on! "to the infinity and beyond in the vast universe!" "to the depth of the mysterious ocean!" "I like trains" it just can't compete

Arghhh!

May be the marketing department is running out of ideas ?

·

So what you're saying is that the Seamaster Railmaster is not the watch worn by the dude operating the railgun on a ship?

Seriously though, are cool: "To the end of the world!" 💪

Railmaster is a pretty old series really, that's why it was included in trilogy set

·

Well if you are on board galaxy express 999 maybe lol

But in this day and age, "traveling on a train" makes me think of surviving the Siberian railway at best...

Nah he would be wearing a pulsar from 80s that looks like it can call on an orbital laser strike just because lol

·

Maybe the name ain't all that, but it looks pretty and all anyone else knows is that it's an Omega. And it's one without the dodgy skeleton or arrow handsets.

·

Mileage might vary but as some people undoubtedly pointed out already, this model can be great in the particular contexts. I wish I had this watch back in the good old days of ripping abandoned railway tracks for sellable metal under the blazing sun only with my trusty shovel and the crowbar on hand, for example

I don't find their arrow hands dodgy tho, however their greateat handsets are sword hands found on some seamaster from 90s era imo

Lol it made me think of some vagabond type of a character, the question is, can such a character afford an omega?

This is on sale on Jomashop for $3125

Yeah it's like 50% off and yet nobody touching it right?

·

Yeah it is, because in my head, ik that it's a great watch at a great price, but my heart says no

Omega makes many millions of units per year. The actual retail price for brand new Omega comes under pressure much easier than Rolex which produces 500K - one million unit per year. It is just supply vs demand.

Partly true yeah, I mean I don't have any exact numbers about how many watches omega makes per year, but you will never see 50% off on speedy or Sm300 or other popular models, only time I've seen this happen to is railmaster family and nothing else, it feels like nobody wants this watch

·

Care to elaborate some exciting train rides?

·

I’m waiting for Omega to bring back the Ranchero!

Ranchero aside from a weird name, it's so offensively unoffensive, it's soooo boring!

·

How about this?

Thought about it. It’s not quite what I want.

yeah ik, it's kinda meh, I like the denim one the best of those 3 myself

·

As one of the Fab Four said when asked about the band name "Beatles" ... It's just a name innit? Like "shoe" ... we coulda bin called "The Shoes" for all you know!

While "Railmaster" is just a name, it's one of Omega's classic models that does (IMHO) evoke those romantic days of rail travel! Great lookin' watch; enjoy it, its name and its heritage!

·

It looks fine but the numbers bother me. They’re too close to the center and too far from the outer indices.

Interesting, because I don't see any balance issue as I do with Tudor ranger myself

Use this to cover the word “rail”… remember to “shake well” before use 😂😆😝🤙❤️

So, something I wasn't aware of, apparently this model has cal 8806 which is META certified, it's basically a deal of the century and a steal

·

I’ve ridden trains. Pleasant and on travel adventures. Doubt I’ll drive a race car or pilot a plane or be in a spaceship to the moon. I’m more than fine with Railmaster. And I got the Trilogy ‘57 anniversary one.

As I said previously, trilogy doesn't count, it's bezeless seamaster anyway....

·

The Railmaster is seriously underrated in their lineup
