Which one do you like best?
I recently came across both the Farer Resolute 36mm and the Smiths Everest Expedition 36mm pictured above. I am aware of the price difference between the two, however I would like to ask simply on looks would you say the Smiths would be a good alternative to the Farer?

Farer. Lume looks amazing on it also.
Farer is a more modern take on the field watch design, Smiths a bit more “vintage inspired”. So in person the vibe is quite different. Personally, I prefer the Farer although have a lot of time for the Smiths brand.

I'm a sucker for syringe hands, but both watches have those. Which leads me to the arabic numerals and the Farer's are just more legible, prominent and eye catching. I also really like the way the seconds hand is tipped. The Farer gets the vote from me.

Looks like Farer won here. Although personally I like think Smiths has the better proportions.
Farer. I am a bigger fan of the numeral markers used on that one. Highly legible.

I am a big fan of Farer and their designs, however for this specific contest my vote goes to Smith. I prefer the dial colour and the hands. Both look great though.
Loving the Farer
I find myself (and I really sat here for some minutes thinking about it) plugging the Farer. It’s fresh, very, very well designed and elegant. It’s got real personality but it doesn’t scream in your face.
The Smiths is attractive but, and I am giving an opinion, I think it suffers from a kind of uptight quality that seems a bit fussy. Now, as a rule I am attracted to the style illustrated by the Smiths - not so much this particular piece - so my decision surprises me.
Fun fact, I do own two Farer watches, but neither at all like your choice. I can say that Farer watches are very, very solid and well made. High QC going on.

Farer, no doubt in my mind.
Farer! The clean look but unique lumed applied indices draw me in. Desperate to add one to the collection one day.
I had the same choice and I went with the Smiths…then it was stolen, and I bought the Smiths a second time.
