Help! Is this watch too thick for my 6.5 inch wrist?

I purchased this Helm Komodo sometime last year. Recently, I have been evaluating my collection of watches to determine which watches are actually a good fit for my wrist size.

This Helm Komodo comes in at 40mm case, 47mm L2L and 15.5 height.

Crunchers, do you think it's too big for my wrist, specifically is it too thick/tall? Can I pull it off or should I consider removing it from my collection?

That is chunky, but that's the style of watch.

More importantly, how does it feel?! That's the critical bit, what it wears like.

My SM300 is thick and I often wear it on a double pass traditional NATO and the thickness really isn't a problem.- so it depends on if it bothers you practically.

·

I also own the exact same Komodo and I found it fine on my 7 inches wrist but it’s the max I can go for thickness. Keep it on the bracelet because on rubber like I do some times it’s even worst. But for me it’s a keeper for sure ! Enjoy

It IS thick, but had you not pointed it out, I wouldn’t have noticed. So, I don’t think it is TOO thick. The only issue I see is fitting under a sleeve, which would probably be impossible!! I like the look of it and wearing it around would be fine.

·

I agree with Inkatatus that if it feels good to you is what matters.

Top view is good on your wrist.

That bracelet appears to provide a solid fit that will keep your watch stable.

Normies😅 don't really notice our watches.👍

I think it looks good on you.

·

it is thick for everybody but not a bad thing necessarily

·

It’s too thick for a 3 hand 40mm watch that doesn’t have 500+ meters of water resistance. It has nothing to do with your wrist.

Helm made it thick as a style choice; it fits your wrist the way it was designed to fit. So, the watch fits fine, but if you don’t like the style, then you should sell the watch.

·

Yes its too high/thick. We have the same size and I think i prefer 13.5 as case height with the glass factored in. That would be my max height but thats my preference.

·

If you're asking it's too thick 😅

Following options and situations I can think of:

*If it feels alright on your wrist, I.e. it does not hinder your activities, then you may:

-let it go against a new watch that would better fit your collection due to too many considerations to list here.

-keep because of ..... (same last 6 words from above sentence)

If it does feel heavy on your wrist then in addition to the above two options you have:

-go to the gym and get comfortable with heavier loads on your wrist. Once done, go back to the *.

Thank you everyone for your valuable input, I will take all your comments into consideration before I make a decision. Again I appreciate this community and look forward to continue learning from everyone's journey and experience.

Ach du mein. That is somewhat of a Clunker. Surprised at the difference between 14 and 15 mm. My PRX Chrono sits proud though doesn’t look nearly as chunky.

·

You can pull it off, but I feel you. I sold mine too because it was too thicc and mine was a black dial so I always saw my reflection when looking at the dial and it was just bothering me too much

·

At the end of the day it's up to you. You have to wear it.

·

Chonky watches have their reason. If you feel badass when wearing it, do not care too much about the opinions of other people 😀

·

I’m on the waitlist for one. If you off load, I’m interested. :-)

·

I love chunky watches tbh, looks good to me

·

Still a banging watch though. That said...😁 in this case too tall.

Nope. That's the style.

It wasn't meant to fit under a cuff.

6.5" wrist here, wear mine almost exclusively on single pass. Don't get why peeps be complaining about "too tall" or whatever the complaint about single passes are.

NATO's, single pass style straps aren't mean to ride low slung. They are meant to make sure the watch head doesn't get lost during activities.....

....whether that's diving, fast roping off a helo, or chasing a freshly bathed, naked, still wet toddler thru hallways to get the diaper on before things go south...👀🤏🏻🤣🤙🏻*

*Seriously tho, IFYKYK, and once the chase is on, it's like giving cocaine to an addict, just the addict is slippery, squirmy, and DOES not want to be still.

That's the most adorable thing I've ever seen.

It’s intended as a tool watch for diving.

So imagine wearing it over a wetsuit while diving, it’s pretty much spot on.

But as a daily - a long way from the ocean - it’s on the chunky side and a bit of a workout.

Love the look of the stainless steel bezel.

·

I also am just over 7 inch wrist, and I have the same Helm, fits and wears fine. It looks like it wraps your wrist perfectly and it looks great to me.

·

if you one feels ok with the watch it doesnt matter

·

I think it looks fine

That boi thiccccccccccc

Measurements never tell the full story I had a Tudor GMT that felt and looked huge and I like a big watch. I have a 49mm tuna that is thicker than the Tudor but the style of it fits the size better. The tuna should be big it’s part of the overall design and the helm seems the same and wears its size well. The Tudor didn’t wear its size well at all the design needed it to be much thinner than it was. But if it doesn’t give you joy because you think it’s too big then move it on fashion changes all the time if you stick with what speaks you rather than what is in vogue at the moment(smaller watches now lager watches 10 years ago ) then you will enjoy your watches for the long haul

·

Nice

·

Helm Komodo must have forgotten that they aren’t Invicta

·

I have the same one and with my 7.25" wrist it looks a tad thick, but I still love it. I think the shorter lug to lug dimension adds to that look a bit more than a bigger lug to lug. Like my Vanuatu, I believe it's the same thickenes but doesn't have that look because it's close to 51mm lug to lug. Like others have mentioned try it on a nato strap and see if it makes a difference. Ultimately, if you enjoy it, that's all that matters. Enjoy the journey down the rabbit hole! Cheers!
