Two Watch Collection

As a person who owns the Tudor Pelagos 39, what is your opinion on the best watch (with a similar price range) to complement it? It’s possible that this means a watch that’s completely opposite to the one that rounds out a two-watch collection.

It might go hand in hand with a Tank if you’re open to different styles

·

An Omega Aqua Terra. Another sports luxury offering that works in any situation the Pelagos would not.

·

Depends on your personal style / needs. I would do something more towards dress with no bezel. A Datejust or smaller Grand Seiko with a lighter dial.

·

Second the call for an Aqua Terra, but a Grand Seiko, Citizen Chronomaster or Longines Master Collection 40mm would be great.

·

Style / occupation has alot to do with it. I’m typically a diver or tool watch guy. I really only have one dressy watch and I never wear it cause I’m not a dressy guy. I pretty much wear Jeans boots and tees or shorts fishing hoodies and flip flops. I have my Zenith Crono for my dress functions

·

Grand Seiko couldn't be any more opposite.

Reminds me of one of my fav hodinkee articles:

The 54.. for vintage. 39 for modern. All I’ve worn for the last six months 👍🏼

Datejust would be nice. A bit pricier, but I like the direction.

Aqua Terra or Constellation

Depends… do you like a date complication? If not…

Very open to different styles. Gravitate towards simplicity.

·

Would go for an all rounder on the dressy side. As mentioned before, a The Citizen Chronomaster and its ecodrive technology, accurate about 5s/y, titanium and perpetual calendar for around 3500€... what else ?

Omega AT could play that part too but i love a good quartz in a 2 watch collection

·

If you are a watch nerd like other members on this platform then I believe that regardless of what you get now, it won't be long until you start thinking about the 3rd watch you'd want to get to complement your "two watch collection".

I would nonetheless suggest you consider getting something dressy, based on the fact that you already have a nice sports watch.

Grand seiko or rolex op or citizen 0200

Whatever you decide, be sure to get a shit-ton (that’s metric) of straps and bracelets.

·

there is no such thing as a 2 watch collection... it's just 2 watches. Stop embarrassing yourself...

Since this one's in essence a sport tool watcg, I'd go for a neo-vintage dress watch myself e.g., Frederique Constant or a dressier Longines

·

I would go for something a bit more dressy but still versatile. Like a Longines Spirit or an IWC Mark XX, maybe even a JLC Master Control 👍🏼

·

I think a GS piece would like great with your Tudor. I like the Skyflake or 293 with Spring Drive.

Hahaha okay buddy. I obviously have more than 2 watches. Is it a collection if I say two-watch “collection”? Meh, semantics. Don’t be a dick. Only comment if you’ve got something useful to bring to the table.

·

Maybe the new Fortis Novonaut?

Reverso JLC

A watch with a date could be useful :D

But, in all honesty and as others have mentioned: Maybe a GS would fit quite nicely.

·

Well if you have a high end purists dive watch like a Pelagos - I’d say either a flashy chrono (think Breitling or Omega SpeedMaster) or a more dress watch (Rolex Oyster Perpetual, Seiko Grand Master) -

Or better still - take a look at the collections of a couple of nice micro brands (Farer, Serica, Baltic, Yema are some of my personal faves )

(Love you’re Pelagos btw. I very nearly bought one this summer)

Haha, your post went wild and that lad opened a new topic on „what is a „collection“?“.

Consider yourself a trendsetter 😂
