At those prices, I would without question choose the SBGA469.  Here's my reasoning:

  • Spring drive
  • I love the power reserve indicator on the dial
  • The SLGA007 is fantastic, but to my mind it is not > 2x the SBGA469.  Both have gorgeous textured dials, and although the SLGA007 has 5 day power reserve, who the f*ck cares about an extra 2 days of power reserve???

But, that's just me!  And I own the SLGA007!

All I'm saying is, the SBGA469 is a killer watch, and if you can get it for $4,284, that's a killer deal!

Yeah right... you just changed your mind after reading @HotWatchChick69's comment 😜

If I had to choose between these 3, it would be the SBGH273. I just really like that dial and actually came close to buying that watch. I said none of the above because in real life my choice was the SLGH009. I considered the 3 you mentioned already but went home with the 009. The 44GS case won me over.  Well, that and the super sexy new hi-beat movement.

Automatic, I own one myself with the black dial (SBGR309) and I love it.  A quality watch that will never go out of style!

Mine was ’none’ as the next thing I have my eye on is the Black Birch SLGH017, although, I agree with @HotWatchChick69 ’s sentiment on the 469. The 017 is >$10k list, and that’s giving me some pause compared to other GS offerings. Still, it’s a looker and titanium. I‘ve got two GS spring drives and a quartz, so my next will likely be a high beat

If money were no object, the SLGA007 without a doubt. The blue dial with gold accents is gorgeous and I love the absence of a power reserve indicator. A dial like that should not be cluttered up with complications.

Absolutely… I’ve even started getting bothered by dates

Hi all - great watches but for me it’s the SBGJ249 all the way as I love the dial having tried on a few different watches - only issue is that it’s 50m water resistant and I would rather be at 100 m - but still saving my pennies for one

At first I thought the gold accents in the SLG007 and SBGH273 made for a more interesting overall package.  But the texture on that dial in the 469 is so similar to the Shunbun Cherry Blossom SBGA413 that I found myself going OMFG!  (I'm biased in that I have the 413, but wow, simply wow!).  Of course Lake Suwa's surface is pretty cool too.

·

Try as many of them on as you can and buy the one that makes you smile.

·

If I was forced to buy one with magic money, it would be the SLGA007. I just love that dial.

However, with my own money? None. I need that cash for a Speedy.

·

Just want to note that the 469 dial is the same texture as   413 Shunbun or 415 Winter, but different colour. I love this texture and reason why I got the Shunbun.

One thing that bugs me.... is the small stub next to the date window at 3 o clock.  For the 469, the minute is applied to dial, it doesn't have the rehaut/chapter ring for minute track, so you will have a small stub on the 3 o clock window just next to date.  You can see the chapter ring on the SLGA007. and so the date window is put against the chapter ring and I find the symmetry very good. The 273 has a stub AND the chapter ring marker (why did they do this??!)

Some people love the fact the power reserve is at the back for 007. I thought I was this camp till owning the Shunbun. Now I love watching the polished needle go up as I manual wind it. I love catching the reflections of light off the ridges of the gauge too. Something extra to look at. Just saying, your sentiments about things might actually be affected about what other people say and you may not mind.

Some differences that I note between the model. The value proposition of the first two is really good.

I'm a sucker for a blue dial. I voted but my heart is torn 🥹

·

I would either get the (A) SBGA469 or save up to get (C) SLGA007.

Like pokemon, I'd say gotta catch 'em all.

If holding yourself to a single purchase...

Well, I love me a 44GS case, but am hardcore spring drive fanboy.  So probably the 469?  It moves as time moves, in a continuous flow around the dial.  Poetry in motion!  It's dial is quite dark, but with incredible detail that will absolutely pop in brighter light.   So would probably lean that way.  Also quite rare in North America.  And yes, the Suwa is better, but not at double the price (if price matters to you).

One more 469 perk - as per my Japanese wife - katsu-iro is the samurai armour colour that means you are likely to kill your adversary!  Sweet bonus!

·

the SBGA469 would be my choice then given the price choices its a no brainer

·

I vote for 469. I like the 007 texture better on the sbgy, to be honest. And while I like the shunbun dial, I think this texture works in this blue, too. Also what everyone said about price. 😉
