My three watch collection

I think I am a three watch collection guy. Explorer is here to stay, not 100% sure about the BB58 and the Max Bill. What would you suggest good alternatives for these two?

That is certainly a FINE three watch collection!

Am beginning to come to the realization that a smaller collection of watches actually might be better overall, than a larger collection where most of the pieces end up not getting worn (much) ...

·

Great collection. If I were to change it up, it would be for a diver with some color.

·

Nomos for the Junghans. Omega Seamaster 300 Heritage for the Bb.

·

Great collection! I second what @SpecKTator said.

·

Grand Seiko SBGX and Pelagos 39.

Get rid of the Bland Bay & replace it with one of these.

I agree with the smaller collection thought.

·

Great collection. Maybe trade one for a chronograph? Zenith?

·

Longines Heritage Classic for the Max Bill

Omega Seamaster 300 for the BB58

·

Yema Superman Heritage.

·

Sounds like you have that junkie itch again!😂We all so from time to time, pun intended!

·

Really nice collection. As Savage61 mentioned, I too really need to adjust my thinking and consider paring down my collection.

·

That is a brilliant 3 watch collection, well balanced. But I think you need a complication watch, such as a chronograph like the Omega Speedmaster, or a more affordable Frederique Constant flyback chronograph for 5,000. Or you could go with a dive watch, like the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, Longines Hydroconquest or an Omega Seamaster 300M

Grand Seiko SBGX and Pelagos 39.

I'm obsessed with the SBGX line. Absolutely need it!

·

We’ll done sticking with a the Explorer. Skip the BB you already have the real thing. I’d go with a Aqua Terra in blue or green and maybe a Sinn 104 in white. You get some color and a lot of options.

·

Seems completely balanced to me. 👍

·

Switch your BB58 to a blue dial and add an Aqua Terra or Formex Essence if the funds don't stretch.

·

Swap max bill for a Blue and White Reverso

And the Bb58 for a Liquid metal planet ocean

·

Keep the BB58. It is a killer watch.

Not a fan of the junghans: lot of other options like santos, tank, nomos, grand seiko

I agree with the smaller collection thought.

I like a large collection. That way, I have 16 different brands, 6 different colors and three different movement types.

·

exchange the Max Bill for a Zenith Chronograph the new reverse Panda and the BB for a Submariner no date :) ( If I had the cash that’s what I would do ) Happy agonising with youe first world problems 😂

I do recognize some of my ideas for 3 watches in your collection.

Kuoe Old Smith 002, Farer Erebus II, Maen Hudson GMT

I believe he is quietly saying he needs two more watches to match a Rolex , your choices are lower tier nice watches no argument! But no….. ? Tell me to mind my own bees wax no problem 😌 just I read between the lines.

·

Nomos Orion as an alternative for Junghans. I love the BB58 but an alternative could be the Pelagos or Omega Seamaster 300

·

Ok, there are plenty of options…but sincerely I wouldn’t change anything… amazing collation… I only would make sure to have the proper watch strap material alternatives ( steel for the explorer and BB58 and also rubber for the BB58)

·

So you're keeping the Explorer. 👍

I say sell the Max Bill (the Explorer on leather makes a great formal watch anyway) and take your significant other for a weekend break.

Then think about selling the BB58 but don't actually do it. You have the perfect TWO watch collection with the promise of a swap-out in the future.

·

Nice 3 watch though I think 5 or 6 would be the perfect number for a collection. I’d keep the 58 and like some have suggested a Grand Seiko for the Junghans.

It really depends on where your tastes lie.

Maybe replace the BB58 with a blue diver? If you’re not looking to keep a diver in the collection, maybe it’s time for a chronograph?

The Max Bill (and Junghans in general) offers something pretty unique as a true bauhauss-designed watch. I couldn’t really recommend anything better (specifically) for what it is, but there are a lot of options in the dressy/elegant watch arena right now. If you’re looking for something functionally designed, you could also take a look into field watches.

·

I replace the Junghans for a Omega and you set for life!

·

Nice collection. If it were me? I’d swap the Max Bill for a chronograph and keep the BB58.
