It sounds obvious but it's something that needs to be repeated. There are so many beautiful options but at the end of the day, no watch is worth sacrificing your livelihood over.
Buy watches you like, not what everyone else tells you to like. By all means listen to advice or recommendations, but go your own way if you want to. And of course, it's only a hobby. 🤣

I’m still disappointed you didn’t get that Pilot Pioneer!
Buy what you like. Pay no mind to what you are “supposed” to do.
This is it. It's hard in this community, but buy what YOU like. The majority of people in this world will not notice what you're wearing, and most of the ones that do are not true enthusiasts.
"You don't buy a great watch to tell the time any more than you would buy a fast car because you're in a hurry.
Never buy a watch as an investment. Instead, buy it for the irrational reasons that make you lust after it.
One man's collector is another woman's hoarder!! 👊🏼😊
My greatest fear is that I'll drop dead tomorrow, and my wife will sell all of my watches for what I told her I paid for them. 😱
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!""
Only buy watches that suit your lifestyle. As nice as some might be, there’s no point having something that sits on a shelf. Watches are made to be worn after all
It’s been said many times already but buy what you like and use a trusted dealer/seller and do your research, especially if it’s a more expensive addition. This is less of a point as I believe a watch is meant to be worn, regardless of price, but maybe look at what you would be doing with the watch and choose accordingly.
Buy what you like. Pay no mind to what you are “supposed” to do.
Yes, in addition to this, pay no mind to a watch's price or hype. Buy the best watch that your budget can afford. In my book, a #patekphilippe 2499 or a 5970 is just as cool as a #swatch jellyfish or a Seiko diver. Whatever the watch, what is most important is the level of joy it brings you.

Don't start watch collecting.
Don't put yourself in debt for a watch.

Buy what you like. Overall, what’s good, trendy, or what you “should have” is irrelevant. If you love only divers, get only divers, etc.

I still might-I haven't forgotten it. Probably have to wait til New Year now.
Buy what you love, you'll be the one wearing it in the end.
Try the watch
Its a Marathon not a sprint

Its already been said but don't buy watches to impress other people, buy watches YOU like.
Try not to impulse buy.
Buy what you like. Pay no mind to what you are “supposed” to do.
I’m literally selling 2 watches at a loss because of this.
Buy what you can afford. Do your research. The best watches you can buy are the ones you like. And most of all WEAR YOUR WATCHES! 🤘
Ownership isn't required to appreciate a watch. You don't need to own them all.
Changing out a strap or bracelet can transform a watch from "not bad" to 🔥

Steer clear of lesser known brands to begin with. You will lose less money if you invest in something from the more mainstream brands.

There is no must-have watch
Don’t take a luxury watch into a strip club!
Don't bother having a grail, free your mind, don't be scared of vintage.
It’s a marathon. Not a spring. Love this advice. And I’ll 100% follow it as soon as I stop my sprint 😅
Wearing it is the path to getting to know what you like.
