What is the best watch collecting advice you’ve heard and still sticks to your mind.

Buy what you like. Pay no mind to what you are “supposed” to do.

Don't start watch collecting.

Don't put yourself in debt for a watch.

It sounds obvious but it's something that needs to be repeated. There are so many beautiful options but at the end of the day, no watch is worth sacrificing your livelihood over.

Buy what you like. Overall, what’s good, trendy, or what you “should have” is irrelevant. If you love only divers, get only divers, etc.

Buy watches you like, not what everyone else tells you to like. By all means listen to advice or recommendations, but go your own way if you want to. And of course, it's only a hobby. 🤣

This is it. It's hard in this community, but buy what YOU like. The majority of people in this world will not notice what you're wearing, and most of the ones that do are not true enthusiasts.

Its already been said but don't buy watches to impress other people, buy watches YOU like.

Try not to impulse buy.

Buy what you can afford. Do your research. The best watches you can buy are the ones you like. And most of all WEAR YOUR WATCHES! 🤘

Ownership isn't required to appreciate a watch. You don't need to own them all.

Only buy watches that suit your lifestyle. As nice as some might be, there’s no point having something that sits on a shelf. Watches are made to be worn after all

Steer clear of lesser known brands to begin with. You will lose less money if you invest in something from the more mainstream brands.

It’s been said many times already but buy what you like and use a trusted dealer/seller and do your research, especially if it’s a more expensive addition. This is less of a point as I believe a watch is meant to be worn, regardless of price, but maybe look at what you would be doing with the watch and choose accordingly.

Yes, in addition to this, pay no mind to a watch's price or hype. Buy the best watch that your budget can afford. In my book, a #patekphilippe 2499 or a 5970 is just as cool as a #swatch jellyfish or a Seiko diver. Whatever the watch, what is most important is the level of joy it brings you.
