Do use the complications on your watch?

Seeing lots of posts of crunchers with gmt's, chronograph and other complications.

Do you use the complications on your watch?

Personally I used to own g shocks, but besides the time and date, I never used the alarms or the stopwatch or timer.

So crunchers do you use the complications or do you like the aesthetics only ?

Have a good one crunchers ๐Ÿ‘

Yes, chronographs are very useful when you are boiling eggs.

ยท

GMT - occasionally

ยท

90% aesthetics. I can just set reminders on my phone by just screaming at it.

ยท

GMT - business trips + checking the time of the customers with the rotating bezel

Chronograph - timing public transportation and the time before transfer + timing rest time between sets at the gym

Diver - setting a reminder for somewhat important event that day (putting the 12 oโ€™clock triangle on the needed time; it will be an eyesore therefore reminding you about the event)

Diver chronograph - the same as Chrono and diver separately + additional time of the workout at the gym.

GMT for travel

I use all the complications , features and functions on my watchesโ€ฆ except the Helium escape valveโ€ฆ if I ever have use of that, it will be the least of my problems!! ๐Ÿ˜‚

ยท

On digital I use more alarms and count down timer.

ยท

My complication of choice is the GMT. I look at my second time zone almost every time I look at my watch.

ยท

Nope, the less complications the better. I dislike date's too.

ยท

Moonphase - two minutes of entertainment for a three year old. "What does the moon look like on the watch? Shall we go and see if we can find it in the sky?" etc

ยท

I appreciate and regularly refer to a date complication. I love a power reserve not so much to ensure I have juice left but when getting a watch warmed up since I have a fear of overwinding. I get more use out of a chronograph than I expected but generally for silly stuff. But the click on the pushers of an El Primero is a thing of beauty, so any excuse will do.

ยท

I always find a GMT handy. When doing business in Australia itโ€™s useful because of the time differnce varying with daylight savings time

Apart from day/date I only use the timer on my digitals with any regularity. I have worldtimer complications on some of my digitals, but I might just use a radio-controlled one on my travels.

In a way I have also used the power reserve indicator to stop winding a watch unnecessarily. But a diving bezel, or chrono functions - that I have no use for.

ยท

Use my chronograph function all the time at work and the gym. Haven't used my GMT but will when I travel to Turkey next month.

ยท

I only use the day part of the date complication so I know when it's bin day, and I used to use the countdown timers before we got an air fryer. Other than that, I sometimes use the 24 dial in Winter because I might fall asleep in the dark then wake up in the dark and not know what time of day it is.

ยท

GMT when traveling abroad, chrono for measuring elapsed time, diving bezel for countdown function and alarm to remind me of something to do. Date is preety much obvious, used daily. Don't have any other complcations on my watches. So yes use them all, some more often than others. Not the main reason why I bought them.

Chronograph for when I ride my motorcycle and tell my wife Iโ€™ll be home in an hour and I get home 2 hours later.๐Ÿ˜‚

ยท

Dive bezel great as a timer when cooking and GMT for tracking time with overseas suppliers

ยท

Chronograph - yeah somewhat often. GMT - mostly use it as an AM/PM indicator, but sometimes use it to track colleagues time zones

I teach martial arts and I use my Casio Duro to be able to quickly look down and see how much time is left in the class.

I like the aesthetics of my chronographs, but I do use them for time measurements, although itโ€™s more for convenience as I am capable of doing the math and working out the time on the watch dial.

So, while the chronograph and date complications are not ESSENTIAL, I still use them for timing my heats on the machines at work, or timing my sonโ€™s internet time at home.

I could use a paper calendar to get the date, or use the oven timer at home, but my watch is more convenient, plus our little dog is afraid of the beeping of the oven timer, and since sheโ€™s the sweetest dog in the world and Iโ€™m a big softie, I use my watch!!

ยท

All the time.

Bezeled watches get the most use. Timing everything from that perfect coffee pour, time till bath time, all the way up to time left till detonation.

GMT hand and/or 12 hr insert useful for tracking home time for calling and/or just thinking of home.

For digital, use my barometric/altimeter alarms for a heads up when to expect water from the sky and/or water to the face if in canyons.

Also use stopwatch regularly. Just because I can workout with my daily choice, doesn't mean I have to, especially if I have splits I'm tracking.

Rarely

ยท

I barely even use the centre seconds complication of my watches.

ยท

Itโ€™s not a complication, and Iโ€™m not a diver, but use the timing bezel on my diver everyday.
