Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT

I think I’m falling for Christopher Wards. Does anyone have one of these Sealanders and want to share pros and cons they’ve discovered?

I almost got one when they launched and what threw me off were the hands. Why use a trident conter-balanced second's hand when the watch isn't a Trident and CW is already suffering from logo and branding problems? Why all the other hands are all in different style and none of them manage to tie in with the indices? Why does it look like they were all picked at random from various part bins?

That's also the reason why I thought that the Aquitaine has a better dial but by then my interests were already elsewhere.

I had a white GMT, and it was awesome. The only reason I got rid of it is because I already had a white three hander...

Yes I think that's why I didn't pull the trigger on the white dial actually now I've heard you say it out loud . That's definitely it, not so much the trident but certainly the hands and indices, that hour hand just looks wrong🤷

The green dial is nice in so many ways, shame those other things put me off. Great finishing for the price, though that's gone up since I was jonesing for one.

I don't think CW is "suffering" anything, apart from selling too many watches to keep up with demand.

The hands across the C60, C63, and C65 lines are all similar. How exactly do rectangular indexes not match with angular hands?

I get that taste is subjective, but your language isn't..

Sealander 39 GMT and Sealander 36 owner. Both black dials on bracelet.

Pros: case, clean dials, excellent dimensions on my 6.5" wrist, class-leading bracelet (with on the fly adjustments)

Cons: QC on some units (but their 5 year warranty got you covered), clasp length for some (due to the micro adjusting system). Cant really see anything else.

I had the white Sealander and sold it because for my poor aging eyes the contrast between the hands and the dial wasn't strong enough. Other than that the watch is great. I personally like the hands and only wish they would have added a lume lollipop to the seconds hand. The proportions are great and it was very accurate. I also liked the bracelet a lot.

My only other problem with CW right now is that the customer support is so very much lagging that I have dropped my plans to acquire the black dial Sealander. And this is a shame as I really don't find anything more appealing right now.

That green is awesome, I want a watch that color. The strap too.

I know right? Awesome distressed texture they’ve got there.

I have two,, on a GMT and one just 3 dials. I think Christopher Ward is punching way above its weight class

·

i have sealander c63 gmt white dial. i like the hands, it should not be the same. when it is straight (the hour and minute hand), it look like arrow. all hands and indices is good quality. i wished i bought the green dial.

I just picked up the black dial today from the showroom. I tried on all 4 colours and it came down to navy and black. I tried on the green and it was lovely but not a daily wear colour for me. Great on my small 6.5" wrist. The fit and the clasp is very good.

It’s so clean. Great choice! Wish I could see them in a showroom.

I have been eyeing this same watch in green. I would buy it if it had the new logo. The logo is what has stopped me.

·

I'm planning to buy the green dial model as soon as the logo changes from the text to the twin flags. I emailed and asked when that might be, but it's only as soon as the text logo runs out of stock. They couldn't/wouldn't tell me when that would be.

That’s a shame because it makes all the difference in the world on that dial. They honestly should put the remainder of their text dial stock in a clearance section on their site.

So there are a few of us waiting on the logo change on a green dial.

Yeah and if everyone out there is doing the same I don’t see them going through their stock anytime soon.

This is true.

It's an irony not lost on me. I'm not actually that against the text logo. I'm tempted to email them and ask for a discount...

Christopher Ward is absolutely killing it at the moment and this is another great example from their lineup. Great dial, great hands, love the trident too. All up, just a great watch!

I couldn’t agree more.

Seriously considering the green dialed C63 Sealander GMT. Now trying really hard to come up with reasons not to go ahead and buy it 🙂 Would be the third watch in as many months, so fairly ridiculous...but I really love that dial! Am now at least able to postpone because of strap choice & (thanks to posts above) I now know a new version with flags instead of text logo will become available...

I have the white C60, didn’t need a third GMT but that green dial is pretty nice looking. Problem is that’s not a versatile color. If it’s not your only watch then no problem you got to have colors.
