Any fans of 70's Seiko design language

I have always been fascinated by vintage and modern Seiko, but lately I foubd myself digging into 70's Seiko catalogues, found some amazing watches, this is my Lordmatic 5605-7020 that sparked that interest, I picked this up st the fleamarket and fell in love immediately!

What are some of your beloved 70's Seikos?

It doesn’t look that different than some more modern watches. I like it. Of course, I’m a 70s kind of guy.

I absolutely love my Silverwave. It is the perfect daily wear!

Love 70's Seiko. Really a special moment in watch history.

I love that I started my vintage kick on this beautifully refurbished ‘71/‘72 Unicorn mashup of a Seiko 5. I like the funk.

Just a tad before the 1970s but here's my 1967 Sportsmatic 5, which I've owned since 1975 (it is my oldest possession). Fully serviced about 2 years ago and keeps me smiling. Custom water stain (there's a story behind that) in the lower 4-6 area of the dial, there's not another one like it! Scalloped bezel ring and a jubilee bracelet completes it.

I absolutely love the Seiko LM/SL/KS lines from the 60s-70s. Shame that it has become so ridiculously expensive to buy a good-condition one in recent years.

The price of a NOS 56 KS has gone from ~$500 to $800 in like 3 years. Probably because everybody realized the KS reissue from 2021 is ridiculously priced and Seiko is trying to rob us. 😢

Couldn't agree more, wanted to get my hands on Chronometer KS, with gray dial.... couldnt find decent condition below 700-800$... I guess people realize what gems these Seikos are

Forgot to include the reference: 6619-9000. Mfg January of 1967. Best part-I actually found this watch (no band or bezel) in the parking lot of a university my middle school band was holding competitions. Didn't even know what it was, put it in my pocket, had it on a Twist-o-Flex band initially. It was badly scratched, I sent it to Dallas to have the crystal replaced and they found that bezel which compliments it beautifully. I later found the jubilee bracelet and now its done!

I hope you get as much enjoyment out of yours as I have with mine.

Great watch sir!

I love the simplicity of that design: the hands, the clean dial and the finish.

The integrated metal bracelets with those "jubilee" style links, not so much. But if a strap can be fitted, then they look great in my opinion.

70s design was good, but 60s design was better.

I have this base model 1970s Type II quartz, which was fun to wear for a while.

... and recently picked up a modern and tiny solar-powered Tuna. Faux-vintage but so fun to wear.

Love the designs from then, they feel classier, smaller an not so in your face.

Forgive the ancient picture, but it cant get more 70s than this.
