My son has a black PVD coated Spinnaker Vessel quartz chronograph with inset polished wood accents. The only issue that he's had with it was that his wrist is more than 8"and the original bracelet was not large enough.
Spinnaker wouldn't sell him extra links, so he had to source a very similar looking aftermarket one through my watchmaker. Apart from that, it's been an excellent watch that just keeps telling time and looking great.
I have the one that emulates the 8000 case, as well. I think that what makes this one look like a later model is the inclusion of the NH36 with the day/date complications. Regardless, they're both incredibly well made, finished and aligned and they keep excellent time. For the price, there's almost nothing that can compare.
Given how many watches I lust after that I can't afford, either in the original vintage or in reissue form, I would be very sad if there were no homages in the world. I've got plenty of originals, but there are a few homages that I've got in my collection that make me very happy and serve my collecting interests extremely well. I'll never disrespect a well made and reliably powered homage!
