Today struck me as a 6105-8000 homage kind of day, complete with a lovely khaki green seatbelt NATO strap with nice, chunky hardware. This Steeldive SD1972 has been an excellent piece, keeping very accurate time, feeling great on wrist and looking the absolute business. It's also a total strap monster. I don't think I've found anything that it doesn't look at least very good on yet! (Don't let the camera angle fool you, the cyclops lens is positioned correctly)

These things are amazingly well made. Stunner!

That appears to be more of a newer SRP King Turtle homage rather than an 8000.

It's not an exact copy of either case, but I can see that. It doesn't have any impact on how much I enjoy it, regardless

Most definitely, it looks good! Those Steeldives seem to be a terrific value. I was just wondering if they marketed it as such, because I think they make another one that is real close to the 8000's shape. This one appears to have more of the "roundness" of the 6309 turtle, with SRP KT features. That's a Win-Win in my book.

I have the one that emulates the 8000 case, as well. I think that what makes this one look like a later model is the inclusion of the NH36 with the day/date complications. Regardless, they're both incredibly well made, finished and aligned and they keep excellent time. For the price, there's almost nothing that can compare.
