Not being someone who has much green in their clothing and accessory catalogue (or a catalogue of these things, for that matter), I decided that this vintage Komandirskie with a vertical fade green to greenish gold dial and butterscotch leather strap would make a great choice today. Just enough green to be valid as a celebratory accessory this evening when my sweetheart and I don our blinky green necklaces and green rugby jerseys for karaoke! 💚🍀
I haven't shared enough of my vintage collection here. Please let me know what you think of this one. Cheers, all! 🤘😎
Just another regular, boring, middle aged guy who has a weakness for mechanical timepieces
All I can say is to sing Frank Sinatra’s ‘Fly me to the Moon’ with powerful vibrato while enjoying a green ale.
Same decision I made! Also same dial but different cases. I like yours with the slightly smaller 420 case better though 😀
EDIT: actually, yours may not be the 420 case ... looks similar shape to mine; bezels are obviously different though. Prefer your round bezel to the scalloped one on mine.
That's a pretty cool old beast! I have several with similar bezels, and I fall in and out of love with the chunky design.
I think it looks great and they are seriously tough old watches. Pretty reliable and not bad accuracy, to boot! 😎
I do like Vostok
Yes they're movements are a bit crude and antiquated but these watches have a real old world charm, and of course their movements and cases are all made in the Chistopol factory
Although I believe their stainless cases are outsourced
That appears to be the 307 dial which is still produced today. I can't pick the case reference but it looks nice and seems to be in quite nice condition. That strap complements the watch well and is a vast improvement over the very basic but functional standard strap.
That's very nice !!!
