Today I stopped by a downtown jewelry store that I often pass by, and I always notice a second-hand โ Omega Speedmaster displayed in the showcase.
So, today I finally decided to step in. I was actually looking for a GMT, but ended up trying on the Speedy, and I think it suits me perfectly.
The seller mentioned it's a 38mm from 2002, priced at $2790.
What do you guys think? ๐ฅโ๐ซ

Fits perfectly, looks great. Go for it
Did they service it before listing it?
Great watch. Definitely buy over a GMT
Did they service it before listing it?
Didnโt ask thatโฆ They give me 1 year warranty. What else should I ask next time I pass by?
Looks great..๐
Price seems a bit steep. You should ask them about service history on the watch and what was done during the service. Lots of 3rd parties can't service the chrono module themselves so they only service half the movement. Does it have box and papers? Not that it matters that much with this watch but they can charge a bit more for something with box and papers though.
Without full recent service it is a bit steep price, they usualy go for around 2k unserviced. Service can be tricky due to modular movement like @Watch_Dude_410 mentioned already
That's the Reduced right?
I feel like that is a bit too much for the watch. The speedy reduced (is that it?) has great looks and size. The thing that keeps me from getting it (apart from not having that much available money to spend right now) is the movement. As far is I could find out about it, it contains no omega-made movement, but a modified ETA calibre with a add-on automatic-module. Please everyone correct me if Iโm wrong!! Iโd love to be ๐
Considering all of that I think the price you got at your local dealer seems to high. If you want the watch anyway you can surely find it cheaper! ๐

Oh wow! thanks so much for the insights. And yes to box and paperwork.

Wellโฆ he said NO! When I ask the same question ๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ. Can anyone confirm if itโs the reduced #omega #speedmaster ?

Should be easy to do once you got the serial number..
I think it is, just because I have never heard of a 38/39mm automatic version of the speedmaster

Hi ChonusFort.
That is 100% a speedmaster Reduced and it's a bit worrying the seller doesn't know that if I'm honest ๐
It's reference 3510.50 and was made between 1988 up until 2005/6.
I'm my opinion the price is on the high end for that model reference, but if it has all box and papers and is in excellent condition, and it's been serviced at some point and you really love it, then it's not the worst price in the world.
My speedy reduced says hi
Thanks for that mate. Why almost?
It was in a trade but the seller wanted an additional few hundred dollars on top of it and I didn't want to spend that much.

Itโs the reduced.100%.
Those are a bit overpriced now.
The Speedmaster date 40mm will be a better watch and priced much better.
If it has a modern clasp it will be better built overall. Better glass and with better water proof.

A warranty applies if something " breaks". See if the warranty includes service by an approved watchmaker.

It is the reduced. You can get it for less. Service history is important for this model. It is a great watch.

i see thanks whats the reference number for the black dial do you know?
Iโve had this reduced model. Lovely watch. Perfect size. POS clasp tho and comes with hesalite crystal so scratches easily. Swapped mine to a leather strap when it nearly fell off me crossing a busy road.
Get it serviced etc as others have said but enjoy it!!
