This is not a photo. It’s a handmade cross-stitch from my wife.

This is not a photo. This is a handmade anniversary gift from my wife, @WrapItUp, who is also quite a watch nerd. She knows how much my sci-fi space geek self wants an Omega Speedmaster someday and that this isn’t the year because of adult responsibilities and bills and such. So she created a cross-stitch pattern of a calibre 321 and thousands upon thousands of hand-stitches later, made me this as a gift, which is more precious than any watch. You have to zoom in to realize how many stitches she did to make the text on the movement appear legible from a distance.

Good reminder that things don’t matter. People do. And we all can enjoy things without owning them sometimes more than owning them.

I have done some cross-stitch for family gifts though not remotely in the realm of this. Truly amazing, indeed!

I’m did a small cross stitch of a chicken once. Yeah… I’m not in her league of talent.

Wow just WOW!!!

My reaction exactly

Bobofet

So the Bobofet thing is because it’s the name I’d use at counter service so I’d know it was my order. But yes… Star Trek > the lighter fare space opera of Star Wars every day, all day. Don’t @ me, Jar Jar fans.

Sometimes I will use Bruce Wayne or Peter Parker as my name on walk up reservations. Maybe I should use James Tiberius Kirk…I don’t think I could pull off Jean-Luc Picard. I don’t have the hairline for that.

Wow! Brilliant job she’s done there!

It’s an at her professional work rate per hour this would cost more than a Speedmaster to do. But I wouldn’t trade it for a real one. This is far more precious. She would love to do this professionally, but the reality is that it’s hard to comprehend the number of hours involved in doing something like this, so she does it out of love for me and a few friends every so often as gifts.

Only joking my friend, 700 hours is crackers the dedication is truly appreciated and I think all watch enthusiasts would love this on their wall! Congratulations 🎉

·

Truly extraordinary, happy anniversary to you both ❤️

·

That’s seriously fresh. What a woman 👏🏻👏🏻

I remember as a kid my mum was really into cross stitch.

·

Absolutely amazing. Congratulations! 🍻
