If you put a tank watch on a NATO or Zulu strap you are automatically put on probation and must wear a Fossil for six months. (Strap over bracelet. I have one seventy year old tank on a sixty year old Speidel.)
I think the francaise goes better with its bracelet as it's part of the overall design (bracelet is the treads of the tank). But really, I've yet to see a tank style watch that doesn't look awesome on a strap. Yours looks great 👌
To me it depends on if its stainless steel or precious metal. If you have an 18k gold tank style with matching 18k gold bracelet, then that looks awesome. You can also swap that out for a nice high end black alligator strap and still keep it dressy. Both McQueen and Ali went with black alligator on their Cartier tanks.
If it's stainless than I think either the vintage style leather strap or stainless bracelet works.
I don't prefer the vintage style leather strap on precious metals - chalk and cheese to me.

Thanks.
I'm usually a bracelet guy but I could go either way with a tank style piece. Starting to think Ostrich might look nice! 🤔

In my mind straps work best, they look dressier than a bracelet.

For me strap. Your choise of suede looks really great👍 Watchbandit?

Thanks, I usually go for Fluco or Coloreb but I think this one is just an Amazon job, no brand.

Strap. But not that one, it's too casual. Gator or lizard IMO.
Black padded with shiny/polished finish, imho
Depends on your own personal style.
Very broadly speaking, on Tanks - straps for gents, bracelets for ladies but it really depends on occasion and outfits. Also the model of Tank itself.
leather or bracelet is ok, but not on a NATO or Zulu I think
Strap 100%.
Strap
leather strap 👍🤔
I think it's already been said but I think a "dressy" strap. Not sure the more rustic type works for me. Certainly not a NATO.
Strap. But it really just comes down to personal preference. Even Cartier sells tanks with bracelets.
Bracelet is pretty cool too
Straps on vintage, bracelets on modern. As already inferred, black alligator is timeless.

Proper alligator is just so darned expensive tho....

So is a decent tank. Both military and watch varieties.
Gin & tonic.
Definitely not a nato friend
Lizard might be nice. I find Croc looks a bit "plastic" it's hard to find a nice looking one.
.
Also no rubber
