What type of content do like? (Part 2)

I have one more important question for you! What do you prefer / trust more? Thank you for helping me out with some choices! Very interesting to see the results - looks like its fairly evenly spread with a slight preference for Microbrands!

I don't mind neither. I think when personal opinions start to clash especially with any reviewer is when there's a positive review but the reviewer just doesn't wear what they recommend weeks after. I see that all the time with phone reviews like "Samsung the best go buy" and 5 days later they're back to their iPhones. Obviously many can't afford to keep watches or tech. So I think a chart like top gear with scores and move X watch down or up. Making more transparent and people might see your innocent biases which we all have.

Just my two cents. That just came to my brain when thinking about reviews.

Great suggestion! Thanks for the input 🙂

While I would prefer fully unsponsored content, I don’t think that is realistic and the best I can hope for is a balanced mix of both and where the sponsored content is disclosed as such.

I would love to see an unsponsored, long term review of Artem straps.

·

Good point. What about having a non-watch related sponsor during the middle of the content?

·

I really just want honesty in the content of any review

Which is very difficult if it's sponsored.

·

Integrity and fairness is what matters on a review.

·

The more information the better! I actually get a little frustrated when I have trouble researching some watches I would potentially like to get.

I love interviews with any collector really, it shows how other people get day to day use out of this fun (expensive) hobby of ours!

·

Sponsored watch reviews will never say anything negative about the subject of their review.

I suppose as long as you acknowledge this then no hurt in reading sponsored reviews and taking them with a grain of salt.

·

As long as it is disclosed that the review has been sponsored, it doesn't really matter to me.

·

I don't mind either one. No matter what it is in life, I prefer to gather information from every type of source. Then I will come up with my own conclusion/decision.

·

Sponsored =Infomercial

·

I watch and enjoy both, I’ve found that I really only watch a watch review to see more videos/pictures of a watch I like. I usually find that I can find out the rest of the information by myself except perhaps how it wears. That one is a combination of everything.

It matters how you get it.

Friend sends it? You borrowed it from an AD with no strings attached? Reliable.

You bought it? Less reliable but still good (having just bought it, there is some element of rose colored glasses)

Manufacturer sends it? Less reliable.

Manufacturer gives a watch to you or pays? Completely unreliable.

And with all reviews, hearing at least some negative stuff is re assuring that the review isn't pure BS.

Yeah. I think I would follow TGV and always return the watch. It feels awkward when they try to “gift” it to the reviewer. And given how often you see reviewers disclaim this, it makes me feel eh. I also think that those companies (usualy Aliexpress ones) create a unhealthy expectation. Marc talked about this with TGV on one of their joint episodes, where some people who want to review Islanders ask to keep the watch.
