I am taking all of the credit. WatchCrunch has added Elgin, Gruen, Waltham, and Raketa badges.
I have been whining (whinging to some of you) for years about the lack of diversity in badges and how it impacts the vintage collector. Actually, I sent a polite email and received an equally polite and prompt response.
Elgin, Gruen, and Waltham are among the most important historical American brands. Waltham's contributions include revolutionizing watch manufacturing and producing the first waterproof watch. They are just names now, but there are great watches to be acquired out there.
Raketa traces its clock making history to Peter the Great and is arguably, with Vostok, the most important Russian/Soviet watch manufacturer. These were the watches of the office workers, clerks, and factory workers. They will run forever.
So, show us your watches and start earning the new badges (I know that some of you have Big Zeroes).
Congratulation and good job promoting these historical brands. The badges works retroactive so I guess you will have, or close to have, your badges already.
It's perfect timing. I was just looking at some vintage Elgin watches earlier today, as I plan to add one in the near future.
If you are taking credit for these new badges, I should get credit for the Armitron badge; I whined for a while about that one. ๐คฃ
Hey! I want my Apple Watch Badge!!
Joking aside always nice learning about watches from You guysโฆ always a pleasure readingโฆ
โฆ or I could just ride your coat tails and comment on all your Gruen and Waltham posts.
Righton๐ I learn a lot from folks working for those badges!! Well, most I should say. Vary appreciative of the knowledge shared even if most of it is gained in shit talking. That being said, Hit the God Damm BULLSEYE so I close that badge out...PLEASE๐
Nicely done.ย

Iโm gonna take undue credit for suggesting the Longines badge about 10 times as well.ย

Didn't I encourage you to get Armitron recognized? (They sell a lot of watches.) I also suggested Zodiac back in the early days, although I am sure that others did as well.
I may or may not have been the impetus behind the Glycine badge. ย Only @Max is likely to know for sureโฆ

There were a few obvious ones missing in the beginning.
Is there a badge for watches under 32mm?
Years ago I inherited my Grandfatherโs Lord Elgin watch (plus his 16-ga side-by-side shotgun and his lava lamp!). This is too small for my wrist, but I keep good care of it, hoping to one day give it to the next generation. #elgin
I want my Waltham badge ๐
Here are some Walthams in the collection...
More fuel for badges...I need that Elgin badge...
Here are my Elgins...
Now to work on the Gruen badge...
Here is a Gruens...
@WatchCrunch this strikes me has very important low clerical work.
Letโs have those suggested by the guys above, especially Zodiac, a surprising omission.
Iโm sure you wouldnโt want to miss any unicorns, right? ๐
Thanks for creating a playground for us

How do you even get badges? ๐ ๐ค
