I’ve gradually been understanding what it’s all about. I went from thinking “this could be fun next year” to “nah, I have a life and this would be too much to deal with.”

What I imagine it must be like for the participants...

As a sideliner this year I’m not sure I followed all rules and special assignment. For sure the buzz is higher and definetaly all this created an interest for the contest. Good job. Last year (when I participated) was a breeze compared to this. I might come back with no hope to stand the distance. So I vote Seiko🧐

I'm rooting for everyone I called a loser in an attempt to steer folks away so I would win, only to DQ. on day one. 😒

I would like to make a Hunger Games reference but I'm not familiar enough with the material. Let's say I don't envy the eligible participants.

I assure you that my intent is solely to play, and that anything that appears negative is 100% intended as a joke. I’m honestly just trying to make people laugh — nothing more, nothing less.

Apologies to all that I’ve annoyed then…it’s a product of the irony of being instructed to go earn badges to earn a badge.

I don't remember if you were around for last year's version. At the end it was a scavenger hunt of "take a picture with this or that". Yes, the 1WC begot the Scavenger Hunt. @Deeperblue refined it and made it a better contest.

Due to quirks (defects) in my personality, this can never be as bright and uplifting as that. With each new rule or wrinkle the response that I am intending the evoke is "nah, I'm good, " like @GasWorks' last week. They only televise the beginning and end of marathons, the hard slog in the middle is left to the imagination. The slog alone won't make people drop out of the 1WC. There has to be some task not worth undertaking.

I thought badges might be it. Maybe it is for you. As always, I underestimated some people's competitive instincts.

Too freaking complicated and what's the point? Besides didn't have many brands I like/know/respect/etc. Too many micro brands and independents. IMHO.

You are right. I should have chosen better watches.

Through my experience doing 1WC last year, I found that "enduring" a single watch was fine but it just got boring for me. I mean, not only did I have to look down at the same watch on my wrist, but also had to see everyone else have their same watch on, day after day after day after day...NOPE NOPE NOPE.

This year, it seems 1WC participants were surely kept on their toes but I joined WC to look at different watches!!! You want to torture yourself, have it but I don't have to witness it. 1WC is the hell I don't want to live in!

Yeah, it got a bit out of hand this round. Hopefully I have not been negative to you or anyone else, I have tried various forms of sarcasm etc, but have tried to be neutral, if so message me and let's work it out. (That goes for anyone)

It does seem more hunger games than last year. (I lurked at that point last year) But I'm sure that's in part due to the intensity of us as players.

Hopefully we can all move on to better things going forward.
