Micro Tournament Round 1 Day 2: Nodus Vs. Selten

Rules: • Voting is based on the overall brand, not the individual model or sample photo. • There are no rules on how you should choose, but you are welcome to civilly debate quality, value, heritage, etc. • Voters are encouraged to look at the hashtags for threads on individual brands or visit their sites. • Poll closes apx 11PM ET 3/15. • Be respectful of all the brands and members, even if the vote does not go your way. This is meant to be lighthearted fun to raise awareness of 64 microbrands. • Ties will go to the brand with the most unique user-owned photos of their watch on this thread. Currently polls do not allow links, so where possible, please make a point to visit each brand's site to checkout their lineup. Good luck and have fun! All posts and results will be tracked under #microtournament

Selten. They are very creative, good customer service, willing to push boundaries. Nodus is a solid brand. Don't really like having to choose between these two.

·

Both great brands, but the things Selten are doing are just magnificent.

·

Holy crap… never heard of Selten before. I’m in love with that dial and handset 😍.

·

I know that Selten isn't going to win...but they really have produced some nice watches...

I just haven't seen a Nodus yet that appeals to me. Have seen a wide selection in the metal, but they just come across as Aliexpress watches when I see them.

I have come close on that Selten except with the other handset. How do you find it wears? It looks very tall in videos.

Regarding Nodus, I have a couple and for the money, I am quite impressed, especially with the recent Canyon. The fact they QC and assemble here is a big plus for me.

That last part for me too.

Also have really enjoyed the actual limited edition collabs. (Looking at you Seiko, Citizen, et al.)

Not a whole lot of choices for a destro/LHD, dual bezel insert, regulated, crazy lumed, tactical watch on the affordable end of things.

Not to mention the standard bracelet and NodeX clasp are legit, but I am after all a strap guy..but still very nice for those who want to rock steel.

Thanks for the info on Nodus...I guess I just can't get past the "shiny" dials.

The Selten wears fine, but I hadn't focused on the height. I'll have to pull it out and check it out again. I agree the other handset does look really nice...this is the challenge with Kickstarter campaigns...you make a decision and then when you see the other alternatives in person you rethink your decision 😉

That dial is beautiful.

Wes...you are a class act.

I stopped by your table at the Intersect in Long Beach...I really wanted to buy one of your watches. I just couldn't find one right for me. I'll keep checking y'all out.

Congrats as you are going to win this one, and likely go all the way in this contest.

For whatever its worth, Selten has my vote. Would love to have them at a future Intersect too.

Total gentleman Wes. That is the beauty of this. Love seeing the brands rally around each other and fans equally supporting them. Thank you for participating in the dialogue.

·

Have no experience with both but since I like it simple in terms of looks of watches, I will go for Nodus.

I have the one you are looking into and it wears well on my 17cm/6.5 inch wrist. It's not tall at all probably due to the flat crystal .It has 2 sets of strap holes so that you can pick the wrist contour.

·

Ooooo dammit!!!

·

My vote is for Nodus.

F... Today's pairings are tough. I am sure the results will not reflect how hard it was to choose.

·

After looking at both websites and checking them out I really like much about both companies and it is a shame one has to go so early. They both have a watch I would like to add to my collection. I went with the Selton though. The movements were better overall and the designs more unique. Prices I think are great from both companies.

·

Those selton's are pretty 🔥🔥🔥

·

Selten is my pick, doubt they'll win this one, but they're a winner in my book. Love my aventurine

I am REALLY hoping to make the next Texas Intersect.

Bummed I had to kiss the last one, but #worklife always manages to rear it's head at the most inopportune times...🤐😞🤏🏻

Cool, would be stoked to have you join. It's going to be in Austin.

Yup. Awaiting dates to put in for days off, and hoping I don't already have a mission/training on the books.

Or if so, it's in the Austin area 😂.

·

Another good matchup, I really like the Nodus lineup, and I think they are going to do well in the tourney.

·

Poll closed for this matchup. Congratulations to Nodus!

Hey Wes, please count me in! I'd love to attend it. I've only heard great things about it😎
