Micro Tournament Round 1 Day 1: Autodromo Vs. Straton Watch Co.

Rules: • Voting is based on the overall brand, not the individual model or sample photo. • There are no rules on how you should choose, but you are welcome to civilly debate quality, value, heritage, etc. • Voters are encouraged to look at the hashtags for threads on individual brands or visit their sites. • Poll closes apx 11PM ET 3/14. • Be respectful of all the brands and members, even if the vote does not go your way. This is meant to be lighthearted fun to raise awareness of 64 microbrands. • Ties will go to the brand with the most unique user-owned photos of their watch on this thread. Good luck and have fun! Going #autodromo as my first vote 🗳️

Me, too.

·

Off to the races with two auto themed watch companies. Also going with Autodromo here!

·

I love both but Straton pricing get my vote 🎉

·

Straton

·

Man you're putting in the work 💪🏽😎👊🏽

·

Unfortunately I'm choosing from the photos and intuition LMFAO 😂😆🤣

·

I'm going with Straton. The Cuffbuster is awesome and the Yacht Racer is a great looking watch too. Autodromo is nice but I'm passed the Swatch phase of watch collecting. They remind me of what got me into this bad habit of collecting.

Ooh this is a hard one

·

All about the Autodromo here

·

Autodromo. You’ll not regret it

·

Straton

·

going to Straton based on the variety offerings, colors and affordability.

·

Ugh, two car themed brands. I hate cars. Cars are the bane of my existence. But, if I have to choose one, I'll take Autodromo. Their watches are sleek and clean, with there own design language. Stratton doesn't have such a clear identity. But whoever wins, I'll be sure to vote down in the next round.

·

Autodromo have an interesting digital piece, but Straton watches are generally more appealing to me.

·

You definitely don't have to like it. 😃 There are watch categories that I don't really appreciate as well. Too bad there's not a way to completely filter it out. 🍻

·

Straton for me ;)

Excellent reasoning. Haha

This is my reasoning as well

·

That orange dial though 😍

·

I have no experience with either brand, so I am going based on looks alone. The Autodromos look like very expensive (overly so) Swatches to me.

I liked the quirk of the Straton and so went with them. I also felt that they were a lot more realistic about their pricing.

But this is a shot in the dark. I expect handling them might result in a different vote from me.

·

My vote is for Straton. Gor my fellow swiss guy 🫶🏻

·

Autodromo - I have to respect the clean design and the colours.

·

Straton for the value proposition & range for me.

·

Autodromo. I respect that they dare to release a premium digital watch despite the expectation that “most” digital watches should be cheap and/or disposable.

Have had a chance to play with that watch. Pretty sure if I was able to wrap it around my fist, it would go through a brick wall. Super solid.

I had seen the #autodromo brand before but not the #straton . 1st and foremost I am not a fan of "drivers" in general, but both of the offerings were pretty nice, and both websites were pretty decent. I honestly like the Autodromo website a little better, at the watch level. This website is a standard used by others, and at the watch level is very well laid out. I'm always unhappy though when a site doesn't have a single page where I can see all of the watches on offer, and Autodromo does not have that, but Straton does. At the end of the day I like the Straton designs a little better, and I liked how they offer some models in both Quartz and Mechanical. Plus as many others have said already, Straton seems to make the better value proposition. Based on the current votes it looks like I may have backed the loser in this one, if I had to guess most have liked the little bit more unique offerings from Autodromo.

Love, love, love this bracket format and I can't wait to see who makes it to the final 4!

Cheers!

Poll closed for this matchup. Congratulations to Autodromo!

I like both, but feel the Autodromos are a little overpriced. Also Kyle, the owner of Straton, is a solid guy and he’s a Cruncher
