Belt-n-braces reply has it right I think. I often think I’m getting too many (up to 20 now) but I have an attachment to each watch & there’s only one which I’m considering moving on.
That watch looked great on wrist in the store but in natural light it just doesn’t look right to me.
Don’t over think it, if you can afford it enjoy it & follow b&b’s advice.
Now that makes me feel better, I’ve only got two 12 slot boxes & was getting worried as I read about people “turning over” their watches, doesn’t make sense to me unless you really make a buying mistake.Your rationale is how I think but you are better organised.
I used to think a date was a must have but not so much now. It there’s a cyclops magnifier all good, but a lot of dates are just too small to read especially double digits.
Combat sub diver is an otherwise super legible example with a tiny date that for me is a waste of time, & then it just spoils the look of the dial.
That is a stunning watch, the fact that it’s a family heirloom now makes it even more special. Glad it’s getting maximum wrist time so you can smile every time you glance at it?
Great post for us vintage addicts, wish I had a dealer like yours those are some classy pieces. Don’t know the Philly but the layout looks very nice.Assuming it’s an ETA from the 60/70’s maybe?
