Help with purchase decision 42 or 38?

I’ve been wanting the Murph for a while now and this is my first time trying it on. I want to make sure I’m making the right decision here. In the photos, the 42 seems to look better on my wrist but in person it feels huge and I prefer the look of the 38? What are your thoughts?

Ps. The 38 strap looks like it’s cutting into my wrist real tight but that’s just my sausage wrist 😅

When in doubt, smaller is better.

38 is a good field watch size.

I vote for 38, though I think your wrist is the right size to rock either one.

38 for me

38 for me but it depends on how it feels on your wrist

Take them somewhere in natural light - I had the Murph when it first came out, but only kept it for a couple of weeks because the lack of AR coating and printed fauxtina numerals made it illegible in anything other than perfect conditions.

Maybe they've rectified that on the 38. Hope so, I really like the design and it was beautifully made, just completely useless. 😭😭

I think it was fixed on the 38. Even in the store, the 42 was not as legible so I think 38 is the way to go. Thanks for the response

Ooo splendid, I may well be back in the market for a Murph again 😁👏🏻👏🏻( one of my favourite films)

Thank you 🙏😊

·

38 - it's a field watch, not a chrono or diver.

·

You look like you have a bigger wrist, and can rock the 42 just fine from what I can see in the pics!

38mm you’re gonna love it!

Both are majestic but I prefer the 38.

38 all day long

I have a 7.5" wrist and I own the 38mm and it is to my liking over the 42mm.

·

38!

·

42 all the way !

If you want the movie watch you need the 42. If you prefer less on wrist the 38 is it. If you want a true field watch there are other options that are less "dressy" to choose from made in many price ranges. I own the 42 myself and it's a going out/evening watch for me. That said I wear any watch in any situation so don't listen to me. 😁

I agonized over this and went with the 38. Its more honest to what the watch should be. What kind of dad gives his 5" maybe 5.5" wristed daughter a 42mm w 52 lug to lug to watch anyway? Otherwise a great movie.
