Ordered hashtags & watches III which just arrived recently. Have not jumped in fully but the wonderful pictures by Kristian Haagen has already inspired me to consider taking up some watch photography (see attempt photo of my SMP 😜).
Two questions I have for the community.
Q1: I already have A Man and his Watch so what other Watch books do you consider must haves? I’m interested in history on both technical and design perspectives. And pretty pictures 😂.
Q2: As I toy with the idea of considering taking up watch photography. For those that like it, what intrigues you about specific shots? I think I can always improve on the technical (camera setup, lighting etc.) that just takes practice but I’m more interested in what you like to see? At the moment I like the look of flat lay or even product photography. I think I can learn a lot from doing them. As you’ll see from my shot, I didn’t set the hands, they were just running naturally. Does that bother you? Outside of technical, what compositional things do you like to see/recommend?

This one I got recently.
My boss bought this for my son lol
For books, I can recommend both of these. Hands of Time (not so much for the pictures) but a great account on the history of timekeeping, very enjoyable read. And the Wristwatch Handbook. Fantastic pictures and a surprisingly good amount of technical information on movements.
AMAZING SHOTS OF A GORGEOUS #omega 🙌🏽 WONDERFUL WORK
