SPB143? Or the SPB301?

Both with the right AD you can get both for the price 😉🍻

I'd pick the 143, it's more classic. In a few years white dials may be out of fashion, but black/grey dials will always be fashionable. 

That said, I have been lusting after a 143 for some time, so it's not like I'm unbiased. 

Out of those two, I’d go with the SPB143. 

For that budget and on the same spirit, my favorite is the SPB237, that gray textured dial is something else.

143 first as it’s more versatile. You will eventually get both lol. 

I came for the 143 party!  But 301s are always welcome.  

I like the 143 case shape more. I got a pretty good deal on a SPB149 and was surprised how much I liked the colors. Be sure to note the difference in gen1 and gen2 dials, Seiko subtly updated the dial to meet new ISO standards, which added a lume indicator at 3. some don't like it, my 149 doesn't have it.

I’d definitely get the 143. I’ve never been a real big fan of turtles. 

I'd go for 143 anytime. Not really a fan of the unusual case shape of the 301. But go for the one that clicks with you. That is what this hobby is all about. Wear what you like. We will always have varied preferences. 😉

I've had an excellent relationship with him. 

He gave a deal with this two watches. 
I COULD NOT SAY NO. 

This is why I ended up with both watches. 

Another vote for the 143.  As a matter of fact, I ordered one this week. Should arrive on Monday.   It’s been on my radar for a long time…

301, but I would counter with 167.

I prefer the 301 simply because it is a bit more special in terms of the case shape and the dial... But of course 143 is always a great choice

Go with the 143. Sakura Watches has it for less than $900 and Gnomon has it for just over $1k.

It’s a cheap $20 special from Amazon but it is nice.  I’ve tried some other brands and this is the best I’ve found without spending $100-$200 on one.

I believe you can cop the JDM of the SPB 143 (SBDC101) for around $800 usd on sakura. But if I had to choose it would be the SPB143.
