First try at vintage Seiko

Did a bit of digging and looking around for a nice vintage Seiko. Picked up this nice 5621-7022 and tossed a leather strap on it.  36mm case on a 7.25...

I like it a lot. I'd buy one if I could afford it lol. I like the dial. I don't find it to be boring at all, I mean I love my 556i and that's about as boring as it gets I feel. I don't think people's complaints about the dial are really valid. This watch is not supposed to be an Explorer. It's not supposed to be a "tool" BB58 or Pelagos. It is supposed to be bland. If you don't like that, you're just not into bland watches. And that's okay.

💯that is exactly my reasoning for no day or date. the dial is too good to throw it off with a date

It was a pretty small selection to look through, but I for sure wanted no day or date. Throws off the clean dial!

I picked this up accidentally as part of a bundle. I was aiming for the SPB143 since I have mostly monochrome dials. Something about this dial kept it around in my collection though. I think what did it for me was seeing it in the sunlight. I didn't think it was that nice of a watch indoors, but take it outside and it LIGHTS up. I have mine on the OE bracelet, but it does look good with leather here!

I cannot be the only 7.25” wristed person wearing a 556i on a H-Link and be right in between two not great fits: extra link and smallest micro adjust...
